Quote:Let's face it, today wasn't one of his better games. But the game winning TD pass was clutch, and I think crucial to his development as a next-tier QB. I hope this gives him some confidence going forward.

I was also quite impressed with Mr. Yeldon today. Buffalo's defense isn't a slouch.

He didnt even have 200 yards, and he threw another pick 6 late in the game. I don't see how this was a better game.
Quote:His spike in frustration after the delay of game penalty was nice to see. Team needs some fire and attitude.

Losing composure doesn't help you in anyway and doesn't "send a message" besides you being emo. These are grown men. They don't need to be inspired by someone being angry.
Quote:It's something that I believe can be fixed.

With some good coaching yes.
The best thing is we get to watch the rest of the division play some decent teams today.

we are set at QB
Quote:The INT should have been negated by illegal contact on Robinson. It's a shame the zebras let that one get away. It was pretty obvious and blatant there. He did good in this game. Buffalo is not a soft defense by any means and Rex Ryan might be a lot of things but he's certainly knowledgable and respected for his work on the defensive side of the football.

Robinson didn't even chase the pick it was that obvious
I think we all knew if given a late chance Bortles could get a drive but the wry is if we have to rely on the kicker to end it..... Took it into his own hands and left no doubt
Quote:Well I will be damned.

Just kidding. I get rough on your posts sometimes but thanks for giving credit to him. He overcame some real bad coaching and the pick six
Dude I'm more down on the coaching then ever. I'm hard on Blake but only because he has to overcome horrible coaching so to add his own terrible choices sometimes compounds the issues. I was really liking blakes game today. He should've been rewarded with another td drive or at least a scoring drive but the coaches robbed him of that. People should be angry that blakes stats aren't better because of that.

I like this thundercat
Bortles good. Running sequence with Gerhart Alualu started a sequence where receivers stop running routes. Pick 6 was not good but to honest it's not all on him there.

The game winning drive and first tds were great drives. Don't forget he had his first two 3rd down conversions wiped out on holding calls. Bortles played better than his numbers indicated and he had a 2 td to 1 int game.

The win was the most important stat with the GW throw to Hurns the best throw considering circumstance I've seen him make.
Bortles just for a moment owns the league leading touchdown mark. Even for a moment just let that sink in.

He won the game despite his team failing him huge holding penalties, pick 6, failed 4 runs after he gets them 78 yards, drop passes routes not being run. Any one of those would have been the turning point for bortles in the past.

This game he threw 2 tds to 1 int, a beauty of a game winning strike to Hurns most qbs can't throw, had a 9 and half minute clock killing drive. Oh yeah he won the game. He's getting better. He owns the most tds thrown in the nfl at this very minute.
When was the last any jag qb had 16 td's after seven games? Bortles is the truth

Bortles is the present day Favre.  Throws a bonehead pick 6 and then drives the field when the game is on the line to win it.

I'm good with our QB, like someone said AR15, Hurns and Walters is a good receiving group.

now about that O-line...... and oMG those kickers.

And forget the coaches.

Bortles has some growing to do, but he's got promise.

Quote:I said it in the game day thread. He had another chance to lead the team and he finally did it. I'm happy for him!

See, wasn't so hard, was it?

But seriously, you're right about the coaching.  It's bad.  It's arresting the development of this team.  I just don't understand how more people can't see that.

At any rate, the stats on BB5 for todays game don't do justice for how well he actually played.  He did still miss a couple throws.  But for the most part, he was on the money.  Also a few of his better passes came back because of penalties, which was pretty frustrating.

At the end of the day, this come back win is something that is only gonna help BB5 in the future.  I'm glad we went out there and got it.  I was pretty bummed out after that pick 6.  The realization in my heart that if he didn't get the come back win, that this potentially could spell the beginning of the end for him was a pretty deep low for me.

Man, that diving TD catch by Hurns could potentially have saved BB5 from alot of undue scrutiny.
If he can throw enough TDs to overcome a pick-6 each game, then I'll settle for that
Yea he had a rough game but even the pick 6 wasnt his fault, all QBs have down days, but he came up big when it counted and saved Gus his job

I completely agree with you. I was more in awe of bortles in this game more than any other and it's because he hit multiple strides that I wanted to see. It didn't translate to stats because the coaching robbed of a scoring opportunity by forcing gerhart and the penalties
