Quote:So the fact that he avoided the pressure, rolled away to the open part of the field, and kept his cool to throw the TD pass was Hurns? Hmmmmm...kay.

No, that was Blake Bortles, a fearless, driven, potentially very good QB. What a way to show grit!

I responded to the person who said, he took it into his own hands, and left no doubt. *In my JW voice, not true, it was a team/dual effort, with the pass catcher going all out to achieve the desired outcome.
This is rookie Blake Bortles that we saw yesterday. He was flustered, and really in the 2nd half was forcing throws left and right. He wasn't scanning the field and was staring his receivers down. Its great that he rebounded to win the game, and that's when his attitude about the game comes out. But he's still prone to "OMG what is he thinking?" plays every game.

Last season, I was hoping that the Bye week would give him perspective and allow him to improve. Instead, we saw him regress and become ultra conservative. He also had some apparent injuries last season. Here's hoping he can get healthy after this bye and really take a step forward.

I'm definitely not saying that it will.  But this is the kind of win that could make a big impact.  They've been finding ways to lose...and almost did again.  But instead they found a way to pull this one out.  We'll see what happens after the bye.

Bortles actually got a positive passing grade from PFF (+0.2) which is surprising to me... clearly looked like his worst game of the year.

People are saying to not make a coaching change for the sake of allowing Bortles to continue his progress. But what if this is his floor and the coaching staff is holding him back?

Maybe Bortles should get a refresher course with Tom House during the bye.
