I love your optimism, but we need to replace Luke Joekel in this draft with a franchise LT. Heck, we need to draft in the trenches all 7 rounds on both sides.

Quote:2. hurns and robinson do (at times) play well. then again, at time they really don't.

lol, what?
Quote:I don't understand the Caldwell hate.
It's blind.

Caldwell's ratio of good moves to bad ones is light years beyond our last GM and likely quite favorable to many current GM's around the league.

I take issue with some game-day decisions by Bradley and have to look his way after the amount of sloppy play and penalties too, but Caldwell is not the bad guy right now.
Caldwell has yet to sign/draft one big time impact player in three cycles but he's responsible for Cyprien being in my sports life. thanks, Dave Caldwell

He also drafted a franchise QB but but DERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPP!
Quote:bad example, as two years later the Chiefs look almost awful (still no offensive weapons outside of Charles, Maclin hit or miss with a QB like Smith), save for a few key defenders.

The point being the Chiefs went from a 2-14 team to an 11-5 playoff team in one year with a proper coach. The Jaguars seem to have talent (especially at QB) and with the right guy at the helm I could see a similar jump.
you're right on, HolsterHusto

This.

The problem seems to be more of coaching, scheme, and gameday decisions than players brought in.

Marks? Julius Thomas? (broken hand, freak injury. He'll get it going.)

Cyprien was the best player available at the top of the second round. he was considered a possible late first rounder. It was a no-brainer pick. Horrible draft class.
Looks like Caldwell is getting the Teflon Don treatment....he didn't go good on the Cyp pick because it was a poor draft class.

Problem is, how often is a successful coach like Reid made available? Not very. I know Payton might be, but who knows.

At least we saw it's possible for a high profile coach to take a job in a smaller market. The Jags can only hope.

Lol wut?
DUDE Marks is not an elite talent. unless you're putting him up there with the likes of Gerald McCoy, Marcell Dareus, and the Geno Atkins' of the world?

You are very hung up on Cyprien for some reason.
I don't know why you guys still feed these trolls.

They wake up every day, itchin to get on this board to rile us up.

Caldwell drafted Bortles, Hurns, Robinson, Linder, Teldon. Who are all statistically top 10 at there respective positions.

Only way you dont like Caldwell is if you make a conscious decision to not like him.

Has he missed on some draft picks? Sure. But he has also found value in every draft

Serious question... Do you know who Senderrick Marks is?

OT here... But will the level of trolling improve once the team improves? This is a yawn fest. Feel free to like my post in the top right corner, guys!
Hurns didn't get drafted, but I get your point

He also is responsible for

CYPRIEN

Gerhart

Ace Sanders

Sergio Brown

Aaron Colvin

Gratz

and a host of other average guys

he has not drafted or signed one big time, elite, transcendent talent yet. I'm waiting, Caldwell.

My suggestion would be just hold your breath until he does.
