Quote:Assuming our season continues the way it does. Gus is fired. Who is your front runner for our new head coach?
Personally I would love to see us get David Shaw.
NO, NO
NO!
If those are the choices I would rather have Gus Bradley here another year than to watch another losing rebuild. I want a real Head Coach like Bill Parcells, Bill Cowher, Joe Gibbs, Mike Shanahan,Marty Schottenheimer, or if they are too over the hill then Jim Harbaugh, Dick LeBeau, or kyle shanahan

kyle shanahan

Bruce Arians
Yes We Khan!

He has a noticeable fetish for that guy.

"but if those guys are too over the hill, I'll settle for the guy that is in the HoF for his playing days in the 1920s, Dick LeBeau."
Haha, I'm with you for the most part but I think you put LeBeau on the wrong side of your thought
Why did you put Kevin Sumlin? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
Current head coaches are immediately eliminated. After the utter debacle in Miami, I'd be stunned if any team offers Saban again. If you haven't read the reporting on what happened, that's fun reading. Wow!
Frank Reich - One of the best passing offenses in the NFL this year. Incredibly smart.
Harold Goodwin - been under Arians for years. Running one of the best offenses in the NFL.
Edgar Bennett - This guy deserves a shot and has proven he can develop talent at multiple positions.

Didn't Scott Linehan bomb out somewhere already? Based on his performance with Dallas I could support him for HC.
No. If the season is a bust AND Gus is fired, I want a coach with NFL HC experience. NO MORE NEWBIES!
If Gus happens to get fired this season, or offseason, who would be the best head coach candidates for the team? College or NFL? Who do you think would work with David Caldwell the best and lead our team to a championship?
Did you not see the other thread titled "New Head Coach"? It's right there at the top of the forum...
Someone with legitimate NFL head coaching experience, please. If Gus doesn't make it, this team with this youth needs a proven leader.

Wasn't he the 0-16 lions coach?

I thought that was Marinelli.

Could be.... Just remember the coach was in Dallas
You want a coach with HC experience?
In other words, you want a guy that's failed before? Makes sense.

You'd consider Sean Payton a failure if he's let go this year?
Andy Reid?
Lovie Smith?
Quote:I would love it if we got Nick Saban or Urban Meyer, but we would have to offer them a huge contract to come here. Maybe if we're lucky, we might get Tom Coughlin back here.
Nick Saban likes it where he is.
Urban Meyer, besides not being an NFL style coach, lied to the gator nation (of which I am not a part of) and was retiring until the Ohio jobe opened up. Unreliable at best.
The rest on the list that are current or past HCs are someone elses failures.
game playing sucks because the coordinators are so stupid. They never properly game plan, Gus has made some really bad calls. I see the talent, I just don't see it being utilize properly. 31st in points through one fourth of the season I see no improvement. Defense seems to play well but the offense can't do squat. Olson was a bad hire.
I keep seeing people bring up Sean Payton. Do you realize he has Drew Bree's and is tied 13-13 in the 4th against the Brandon Weeden led Cowboys. To those who are over reacting like crazy hopefully this makes you think.

That's narrow-minded. Are you suggesting that every head coach to have been fired never experienced success previously?
Belichick.
Extreme example, but there are others. Few head coaches pull a Tony Dungy and simply walk away or retire as a successful coach. Even the best ones throughout history saw their success turn to failure and eventual firing. I suppose the Giants saw themselves as simply hiring a failure in Tom Coughlin. Sean Peyton is the popular one on this forum tonight; if the Saints keep on and he gets fired, was he never successful?

Makes little difference currently that he has Brees, when this may go down as the year Brees and Manning ceased to look like Brees and Manning.
