Quote:What's annoying is that after last week bortles was "our franchise qb" according to this board and now after one week he isn't again. Apparently it's going to go back and forth all season. People need to manage the highs and lows of their emotions

This
Just horrible coaching today. Bradley got schooled today. Up and down, his team never stood a chance. Horrible game plan, horrible "adjustments" What was the defense coordinator thinking lining linebackers 20 yards from scrimmage? Good grief, fake punt? Runs on second and 10 with the box loaded up?

Schooled would imply that he learned something...

Nobody should have been that high on last week's performance. The defense bailed out a poor offensive effort in the 2nd half.
Sometimes coach speak can get a coach in hot water. Saying things like "now we know where we stand" and "that's what precision looks like" implies that you have no sense of your team's strengths and weaknesses, and you're incapable of teaching precision to your players yourself.
After three games played this season the Jaguars are 1-2 (tied for 1st in the AFC South), {-42 Net Points}

The team is ranked 24th in Offense (20th pass, 23rd in the run)

The team is ranked 22nd in Defense (27th against the Pass, 12th against the run)

Thanks to the rest of the AFC South playing just as bad the team's starting record isnt that bad, but this week is a must win for the Jaguars against the Colts!
I mean it really is right? We know indy isnt a good team, so a loss would be bad.... And a blowout could spell the end of gus bradley
Quote:Gus Bradley is not the answer.

The Jaguars need serious help at all of the coaching positions. The difference in play calling between the Pats and the Jags were clear as day and it's vomit-inducing to watch the Patriots come out with clever play actions out of run heavy formations and the Jags to come out with this simple "run pass run" garbage.

Also at what point do you make an adjustment and try to stop the Patriots passing game? It felt like the coaches were content with being picked apart in the soft zone.

That 3rd and 20 play where the Jags backed their LBs up was painful to watch. That was a sign of fear, and the Patriots knew it.

This team will always play like it's young. It'll always lose games against good teams before even playing a down. That's the frustrating part.

It feels like there are very few actual professionals on the Jaguars, and I feel like this is because we don't have a coach who is pounding that mindset into them.

These are my thoughts in a nutshell.

Gus is not the answer.  He wasn't the answer at the end of last year.

This team constantly seems underprepared, outmatched, out-coached, it has become beyond frustrating.

I saw a quote posted about Bradley commenting on not blitzing Brady or whatever and he said they chose not to because he's more efficient against it or something like that.  Seriously?  How incompetent can you get.  WHAT YOU WERE DOING WAS NOT WORKING.

Long story short: Gus and the coaching stink.  A change is a must.
On the bright side, Poz leads the league in tackles!

Couldn't get over that. The radio guys were all "well, if we're looking for positives, poz had 18 tackles rabble rabble rabble"
Has anybody else noticed that we aren't "getting better" every day? Whatever happened to that slogan.

I wonder if Gus thought our guys "competed" today
These types of threads help no one. They don't make the team play better. They don't make the coaches coach better. They don't make the fans feel better. Furthermore, they allow outsiders to look at a segment of the fan base that is understandably disappointed in the team's performance, but so fragile that they feel the need to keep posting dumb and predictable polls and assume the entire fan base is a bunch of butt hurt whiners.
Blake did alright considering the circumstances and the lack of help. Notably in run blocking. We all knew the game plan was to run the ball and what was the longest run of the day?

Bortles will have good and bad days.

Gus still hasn't shown much but a week 4 win over the colts would be impressive. Dave is assembling talent but the process is so slow.

I had never seen a formation like that except in the last minute of a game. I was shocked to see the first 15 yards WIDE OPEN and free of any defenders. What a joke that was. Who the hell called that and other ridiculous plays yesterday?

I agree. The Patriots had three rookies on the OL. That creates plenty of opportunity for confusion when you blitz, resulting in a pass rusher coming in unblocked. And as someone else mentioned, there is no excuse for the Jags not sending an all-out blitz on every play while Brady was still in the game in the fourth quarter. At least send a message to Belichick that we're not going to allow him to run up the score without consequence.

I'm sure PFF has him listed as the worst LB in NFL history.

This message board is the only outlet of frustration most fans of this team have. I see nothing wrong with threads like these because they are true.

I am sure Big Cat Country does
Okay, seriously, who are these people saying "yes" about bradley?

He's clearly in over his head... He comes out on Mondays talking about adjustments we should have made.... Well why the hell dont we ever make them IN GAME?

Says He didnt notice Arob was double covered, despite arob saying he was and Ohalleran noticing it too.

And the best part: he said out quarterback was ignoring reads to try to force the ball to the tight ends. What the hell kind of coaching is that? If the player is ignoring his coaching, it's up to the coaches to call them out IN GAME.

What are we paying these guys for, seriously?
