Quote:Not many teams have a beast receiver, man... This board is crazy when thinking we need a player the caliber of Dez Bryant or Julio Jones. The Patriots and Seahawks have won the super-bowl with average receivers. They actually have a big target with Jimmy Graham, just like we do with Julius Thomas. The defense was able to double team ARob and Hurns whenever they wanted to, and nothing was stopping them from doing it. They didn't respect the TE's, and that's a huge part for offenses around the league. They had a field day not having to worry about that.
I never said we need a receiver the caliber of Bryant and Jones, but we need a competent #1, I don't see it in A-Rob and Lee is always hurt. The Patriots arguably have the best QB & TE of all time (Gronk is also a beast in the run game as a blocker which keeps defenses honest) and the Seahawks have had one of the best defenses in the last 30 years, their path's to success are a bit different. If your receivers don't pose a threat in the pass game it allows D coordinators to simply take away a tight end like Julius Thomas with bracket coverage, the Jaguars were able to take away Greg Olsen (rather easily) yesterday, mainly due to the ineffectiveness of Carolina's receivers.

Our receivers are better than Ted Ginn and Cotchery.

They didn't show it yesterday

Our receivers haven't shown the ability to consistently beat man coverage, they're inconsistent catching the ball and none of them are a true "deep threat", they will obviously be better than Ginn & Cotchery but I don't think any of them have shown the ability to keep d coordinators "up at night", if I game planning against the Jags I'm bracketing JT all day everyday and leaving my CB's on an island with Hurns and Robinson.
Great teams have WRs who get open constantly. Julian Edelman for example..

Exactly, Edleman is a guy that beats man coverage all day long, you don't need Megatron to have an efficient offense but you do need receivers that can consistently get open against man coverage. Otherwise defenses will stack the box against the run while bracketing Julius Thomas.
Joke was the worst O-Line starter. Those who think he's doing well need to be cautious and re-watch him play. I wouldn't call him horrendous but he certainly isn't good and is borderline serviceable IMO.
Can someone post the defense grades? Thanks!

Thank you!
Odrick looked very irrelevant to me so it makes sense. I hope Smith bounces back next game.
Quote:So much for that allen robinson breakout.
Along with the new and improved Lewis, and McCray is better than Revis news...
Talk is cheap, and action makes the news.
Quote:Lee is not our best WR..
We don't have a "best" WR. At least I haven't seen him.

Tyson Alualu got robbed on that forced fumble (should've been 1 for him) while Poz was tackling he clearly punched it out & players legs were still moving.
Telvin Smith did have a bad game I hope that extra weight hasnt killed his speed.
Clemons should've been rated higher based on his limited snaps he was always doing something good the time he was on the field.
McCray should've been in the red he screwed up a few times.
I noticed Denard blocked well yesterday as well. Glad both him and Yeldon put in solid performances.

You should send them your resume

Agreed. Im excited to see Yeldon next Sunday.
idk how we managed to not bring in any play making WR. We can't even attempt to throw deep. We make routine 5 yard catches really hard.
I don't know the Oline has improved and some of the pressure & sacks was Blake Bortles fault, but when I watch other teams play it sure seems as if their QB has more time to relax than that of the time Blake is given.
