Here's a bold prediction. Bortles starts 16 games, rarely throws 30 times a game, Jaguars have a top 5 rushing attack, Jags make the playoffs at 9-7 behind a stout defense.

 

This time next year we see Bortles as a serviceable game manager. 

I have a more bold prediction. Coughlin starts drinking Death Wish coffee this year and by mid season he's the new head coach after Marrone starts off 0 - 6. We go 10 - 6 with Brandon Allen as the QB and we make it to the AFC Title game and lose to the stinkin' tacks.

If the Jags are thinking about making Tyrod Taylor the QB they might as well draft a QB with the first round pick and start over.  If he was worth anything he wouldn't be available.

Thank you and I'm glad you posted this because let these irrational people tell it Tyrod Taylor is a All-Pro quarterback which is not the case.

He throws the ball better on the Run, durability, he throws better deep without a legitimate deep threat like sammy walkins, he has thrown more touchdown passes, throw more yards over the past two years and did this without a good o-line, no running game and a predictable offense based on lack of coaching.

No one has said Tyrod is an all pro QB, but there is a large chasm between all pro QB and Bortles' level of play thus far...and Tyrod falls somewhere comfortably in the middle of that gap.

did you feel this way about blake level of play after 2015 season?

Yep. He wasn't good enough in 2015 either, he was just an inefficient compiler as I've said a hundred times. 2015 Blake on last years team wins a couple more games probably, but we aren't serious contenders until Blake gets back to that level and then takes another equally large step forward.

If Bortles plays like weeks 16/17 last season this is a 10 win team every year. Better than that if we actually produce a running game and more defensive pressure.

He has more Talent than that even if people like you fail to admit it.

If the jags have a chance to get an upgrade at QB they better bounce on it.  I have serious doubt bortles will ever be a solid starting QB.
