Quote:If the jags have a chance to get an upgrade at QB they better bounce on it.  I have serious doubt bortles will ever be a solid starting QB.

Why do you have serious doubts because even when he had a bad year this past season he still put up decent numbers. I guess that Blake hate is real right here

Has that make us competitors in AFC South? Dude can't finish.

How do you know that when the foundation of the team was it constructed properly. Do you or do you not think if he had a legitimate running game he will be a strong finisher as a QB because everything will not be on his shoulders? Most quarterbacks in the league needs help and he's no exception to the situation.

Numbers don't win games. He also has really high int and sack numbers. He does not play smart and should have basic mechanics down on throwing a football. We should not be discussing blake struggles after 3 seasons.

Well I guess you will hate Matthew Stafford, Eli Manning, Cam Newton and Kirk Cousins because they had struggles in their NFL careers as well doing their third year in the league. His int numbers went down this year, his sack numbers has gone down this year, and he needs help around him just as well as other quarterbacks in this league. Everybody want Tony Romo but he went to the playoffs twice out of 13 years of his career. Oh by the way, many qbs work on your mechanics including Cam Newton, Tom Brady, and Drew Brees so stop acting like Blake Bortles is an isolated situation.

Bortles will get this year to compete or show he's the guy.  I personally don't believe he is.  I for one do not want Tony Romo or Taylor.  Bortles is an isolated situation.  I have never seen a QB who can't make average NFL throws consistently after 3 years of starting.  We should not even be discussing this going into year 4.
'Everyone'. I don't want an aged backyard baller with like 0 postseason success...

I guess you never watch Eli Manning play before Odell Beckham can erase his accuracy issues. Lol. Go look at Eli Manning career completion percentage or Andrew Luck or Cam Newton and then revisit this conversation.

So is ar15 or lee beckham?

Unfortunately no because Odell Beckham jr Is a beast and one of the best in the league. I love our receiver group but none of them is on his level.
Bortles can turn it around but he has to actually work his tail off.

It's pretty clear how lazy he was last summer. It showed on the field.

If he works his tail off and we have a good offseason, you will see the Jags triple their win total from last year.

Which is concerning to me

I seriously doubt Luck or Newton will have the rings Manning has.

It absolutely is concerning.

Let's say he comes out this year and has a great year because he worked out all summer. Then we give him a new contract. Will he revert back to his partying ways? Most likely yes.

But if he comes out and stinks again then we most likely lose a lot of games and then are back at square 1 with a new QB.

Here's to hoping he is going to grow up a lot in the upcoming season and workout every off season.
I think Bortles can turn it around. Especially the team that Tom will build around him will allow him to be a better QB. But if Kirk Cousin magically hits free agency I wouldn't mind paying him 20 mill a year for 5 years with 60 mill guaranteed and sending Blake to Cleveland for the 12th pick or trading him to the Cardinals for the 13th pick. I doubt any of those things would happen but I can only dream. He can sit behind Carson for one year and learn from him and Arians and take over the season after. But I still believe in Bortles right now to come back and have his best season yet.

Out of Bortles' 11 career wins, how many of those games were won because he "led" the team to victory (i.e. put the team on his back)?
