Panthers vs Jaguars Matchups
(trying hard not to be bias)
QB - Jaguars, yes Cam has way better stats last year but not during this Preseason, stat wise Joe Webb was the better QB for Carolina (will he punch me for typing that)?
RB - Jaguars, yes last season the Panthers running backs were way better but not during this preseason the Jaguars kept five rbs and while most of them avg 3 yrds granted, Grant is explosive!
TE - Panthers, with Thomas injured Greg Olsen is too good of a player despite the Jaguars decent depth not to give this one to Carolina!
WR - Panthers, two WRs with over 1000 yards receiving last year while the Jaguars havent done that in over a decade, yes the Jaguars have young potential guys but yet to be proven during regular season
OL - Panthers, The Jaguars Oline has improved greatly with Free Agents aquired and Marrone's coaching but some doubt about LT Luke gives Panthers the edge.
DL - Jaguars, despite the injures and losing our first 3rd overall DE the Jaguars DL Coach is the best in the League & the Jaguars DL is hugely underrated in the NFL.
LB - Jaguars, yes Kuechly is a beast but I think Telvin Smith plus Poz gives the Jaguars a tiny edge in LB comparison.
DB - Panthers, this one isnt even close. The jaguars had ZERO ints during preseason, and despite FA pickups the DBs struggle along with injuries.
ST - Jaguars, struggled with STs but if Greene returns good & Grant brings a kickoff home during this game I think they will get much more respect. Besides Panthers punt returns are bad.
Overall the Panthers are favored to win by many but not by me. I expect the Jaguars will got a lot more looks after Olson displays this explosive offense with multiple TEs in packages it will confuse Carolina's Defense and create mismatches.
