Quote:Scam is a good one...

But I like Can't Newton...

As in Can't win a playoff game.  Can't be a true pocket QB.  Can't be accurate on medium to long range throws consistently.  Can't  be any better than Jay Cutler...

It works on so many levels...

LOL!! Cam isn't top 10, but I wouldn't go this far. Jay Cutler may have a stronger arm than Cam, but Cam is most definitely a better QB.

BTW, I'm watching NFL Network and they just cut out with a little clip about what's up next. They said "Twelve teams made the Playoffs last year, but not all of them will be back." Well, when they said that last part about "not all of them," they showed a clip of the Panthers. ROFL!!!

I think the NFC South is worse than the AFC South.
Quote:Hey did anyone else see Daniel Jeremiah on twitter picked us for most improved AFC team? Pretty cool.

Right on! They just might be.

Quote:Already won a playoff game, broke almost all the rookie PASSING records and was one of the most accurate deep ball QB's in the NFL in his first couple seasons.

Does your [BAD WORD REMOVED] every get jealous of the [BAD WORD REMOVED] that comes out of your mouth?

Bortles hasn't come close to doing anything Cam has. Cam didn't even have the benefit of Training Camp or OTA's going into his rookie year. But hey, enjoy Gabbert 2.0.

You mean the game he went 18-32 for  56% completion rate with 198 yards with an INT THAT playoff win?  Bwahahahahah!  You are so funny!  Hilarity ensues with you panther trolls!

Just face it, Can't is just a guy.  I'm so happy that you are gushing with pride over your sloppy QB...  LOL!  You're so sad, its funny!  Alas, if all you can hang your hat on is his rookie year, then you go some problems...  Just an FYI you might want to consider when you have a moment of clarity as you hit rock bottom.  (Course it could be argued that trolling the Jaguar MB claiming how great Can't is compared to the Jaguar QB is pretty close to, if not already, rock bottom)

One great year does not a great QB make...  Can't is really good at running for yards.  And he's pretty good and 1st read passes that are short yardage.  So he's got that going for him.  But Can't is very inconsistent on reading beyond his first target, and he's pretty innaccurate.  With that said, he's just a guy.  He's not Ryan Fitzpatrick.  He's not EJ Manual.  He's right there with Cutler, Kaepernick (of course Keap at least got to a SB...  Doubt Can't ever will), Alex Smith, that type of QB.

You know, one that may be able to get lucky enough to get into a playoff game, but one that needs alot of help to get there...  But once there, will wet the bed.

You guys beat Arizona inspite of Can't, not because of him.  18-32, 198.  1 INT.  In a playoff game against a Cardinal team that was on what, their 3rd QB????  LOL!!!

There's no reasoning with these fans.  They are like some on this board who thought Gabbert was going to be elite, we just had to give him "time."  LOL SCam is a mental case like Vince Young, and Bortles is going to show him up Sunday.
Cam struggled against one of the best defenses in the NFL in the playoffs?

Damn, he does suck!

We'LL see how Bortles does if he ever makes it into the post season. That's a big IF.

It will be interesting to see how Bortles does in his second year in the league.  It will be interesting indeed.  I just hope we don't have a Can't type player that peaks his rookie year.

Fortunately, I think we have a QB with a much higher ceiling that Can't.

Again, I never said Can't sucks...  I said he's just a guy.  A mediocre, sloppy QB that can get the job done with alot of help...  But whatever, you're hyper defensiveness about my critiques show that---deep down--- you know he's just a guy.  You fear that I'm right, because in your drunken moments you also have seen his inconsistency.

But it's all good, welcome to the purgatory that is having a mediocre QB,  We had the same with David Garrard.  We've been there too...

Don't sell Garrard so short, he might be better than SCam, hahahahaa
It would be nice to see the Jags win their home opener beings that they usually are on the road. It will be a good game but it does worry me about some key injuries of our D. Granted we do have some strong back-ups. I like Grant and Pierce to get some possible carries soon. The offense looked good moving the ball against Detroit but I would have liked to see them finish instead of Henne coming in and bumbling. Can we get Tebow to back up Bortles instead....just saying. Lets be real Jags 24 Car 21.

Speaking of Kaep, I'm starting to hear rumblings of a potential qb controversy with Gabbert. It doesn't get sadder than that.

I heard that Kaep has been getting some criticism...  I didn't know there was actual controversy!  You know the saying, the back up QB is the most popular player on the team...

I think that is true for every team except for the ones that have an HOF under center...  And any team that has Henne has their backup!  LOL

HAHAHAHA.  I would just retire if I got beat out by Goobert!

So far it's only rumors of a potential controversy if Kaep doen't pick up his game. Ideally they'd like Kaep to earn his paycheck.

Well, when there's smoke...

I think if Kaep starts slow, they may begin to look in other directions.  With that said, I don't know if I can buy that the brass in San Franscisco really see Gabby as a viable option.  I mean, unless he was given some sort of courage transplant...  LOL...

Back to Can't and Kaep, I do see alot of similarities there.  Both are very athletic, good strong arms...  But they are not able to really be a true pocket QB that can make the difficult NFL throws consistently.
32nd offense in his rookie year, I get the optimism. Cam couldn't suck that hard with one arm and one leg, but go ahead; let's hear your best excuses.

I'm intrigued as to how you think the Jags are going to make a truly miraculous turn around. 32nd in O, 26th in D.

You'll be picking Top 5 yet again next May.

No excuses...  Jags were bad last year...  I'm a realist.

You on the other hand...  You are in denial...  BB5 had a bad year.  Let's he how he does this year.

Can't Newton on the other hand...  Well, we know what he is.  And it's just not good enough.  He's all talk, and nothing to back it up.  Yes, hang your hat on his rookie year.  But then you must also hang your hat on him wetting the bed against  AZ for 56% completion rate.

I saw that AZ game, Can't looked AWEFUL...  I mean, he looked bad...  Really bad.  His throws were all over the place, he probably should have had at least 2 INTs instead of 1.

Let's see how BB5 looks on Sunday.  Then you can come back and tell us what you thought.  Again, if you really know your football, I am pretty sure that deep down inside you know that Can't isn't going to ever really be an Elite QB.  You have a QB on your hands like a Kaep or a Cutler.  He'll get you excited, he'll make some plays that are exciting.  When when it's crunch time and things are on the line...  He's gonna wet the bed.  You know this to be a fact, you are just in denial.

I know your ilk.  You are a sad little internet tough guy.  You are a troll that is living in his own world of denial.  But the reason you are trolling is to try and ignore some truth that stings you.  You're blocking your mind from frail reality that Can't isn't a QB that will ever be truly successful.  You are taking shots at a franchise that is already a joke because you are the type of weak minded person that is trying to run away from the reality that scares you.

You are Tom Cruise in every one of his movies.  You are Tom Cruise running as fast as you can from the truth.  You are Tom Cruise, running from the fact that you are not attracted to women.  Run Tom.  But, the thing is, it's the truth.  You shouldn't run from it.  You should accept it.  Otherwise, you're living in denial.  We, as fans of another team, are more than willing to be honest with you.  But you don't want honesty.  You want to kick the other guy while he's down.

You're a sad little man, in that respect.

But here's the Truth.  Can't is just a guy.  No matter how many times you try to belittle BB5 or the Jaguars, it doesn't change the fact that your QB is mediocre.  Which means you will be mediocre.  So enjoy kicking sand if the face of the weakling while you can.  Let's see what happens on Sunday.  Let's see how your QB looks and let's see how our 2nd year QB looks.

It should be an interesting game.

LOL!  Careful with that talk.  I've read this entire thread, there's a vocal group in this thread that are certain the Panthers are going to win the NFCS outright.  LOL!!!

OK, as for the Cutler thing, I really think Cutler is probaby actually better than Can't.  Cutler throws INT's because he makes bad decisions.  Can't just doesn't see the field and is inaccurate on alot of his mid and deep throws.

You may think Can't is better, but the only thing that would give the edge to Can't is his rushing ability.  Cutler isn't a rusher, so the comparison isn't that great.  What I mean when I say they are similar is in that they both can be exciting QB's but will always let you down when it counts.  Their games aren't very similar, just the outcomes are similar.  If that makes sense.

Simple minds rely on silly and frivolous personal attacks. Tom Cruise....really?
Ohhhh the San Fran gabbert/kaep controversy!

Secretary: Mr. Caldwell, there's a Mr. Harbaugh from San Fran on the phone.

Caldwell: H! What can I do for you?

Harbaugh: I'm eating this ham sandwich, was wondering if I could trade it for gabbert?

C: intriguing but you're going to have to give me something more!

H: ok the sandwich, a 6th rounder, and Fisch when I leave this dumpster fire at the end of the year for Michigan!

C: oh man that's just music to my ears! Does it have bacon on it?

H: Damn, I knew I forgot something.

And you will be picking between 10-20 next year. Big whoop.

I've got to ask, do you honestly think the Panthers are a Super Bowl contender this year? You think you're going to go through Green Bay, Seattle, or Dallas with Philly Brown as your #1 WR? WRONG!!!!

It's funny, we crawled out of the basement in the mid 2000's long enough to be mediocre for a little bit while your team was starting Matt Moore and Jimmy Clausen and picking top 10 every year. Only difference being is that none of us here felt the need to go over to your message board and crap on your team and brag about how awesome Byron Leftwich and David Garrard and our 8-8 team was. You are a sad individual. Go home. Your presence here is not necessary.
