Quote:Some things don't add up with how this was rolled out in episode 1, but we'll see where it goes.
A lot of things didn't add up from the first episode. I recently re-watched the pilot of TWD, and it's night and day, head and shoulders above this premier.
I brushed it aside and am glad I did. It's been superb since.
Only thing I thought stood out as being way out of bounds was the forced "Rear Window" scene where they were watching their home from the neighbor's house. That whole sequence and the logic behind it didn't sit well with me.
I'm really digging the "all clear" though. The characters may think all is well, but the audience knows better.
ok episode, though they missed an opportunity with whatsherface outside the safe zone, they could have added tension with her making her way back dodging the military, instead of The Strain route where she just appears back.
I hope they don't go and rescue Nick + Liza right away. Nick and Liza could be at the hospital for a while, meanwhile back at home things start to go to hell as order breaks down.
I liked the final scene. Travis now knows Commander Hardcase is not telling the whole truth of what is happening outside the fence.
I kind of love/hate this show. As much as I am engrossed in it, the characters and their actions are SUPER annoying.
- Junkie Kid - turn already!
- Boyfriend/husband who's clueless to anything and everything
- Daughter giving herself a homeade tat
- Woman not picking up a gun on the road when people have clearly been murdered
- The entire military presence.
Other than that, quite enjoyable!
I do like the Man who seems to know what's up though, with the wife with a broken foot - sorry cannot remember ANY names. He's been suspicious from the start and for some reason seems to know a lot about weapons, etc.
So far, its been ok. The storyline progression is so slow though. It's like "Hurry up and take over the camp, zombies!".
A bit slow...WHY DIDN'T SHE PICK UP THE GUN!
WTH lady.
The flashes at the end were kinda sweet, no more drama there lol

She/ they (most) are still not sure what is up. I don't see anything out of the ordinary with a lady like her wouldn't pick up a gun off of the street.
Quote:But, the gun!
haha
I think We get it. At the point in time that she is in, she/most of the people, don't yet. It doesn't help that the military is keeping them in the dark (to put it nicely) about what is really happening.

lol I referring to your comment of picking up a GUY off the street.
Yeah, "We're from the Government, and we're here to help"...

Patience... that's the tension they are purposefully creating.

Agry.
But I do think that sets her/her "camp" up for some return visits to the "hot" zone.
After all, they "investigated" the church on their own.
Now... on to the mystery on the hill.

Woops, fixed it. And I wouldn't advise her, or anyone pick up a random guy up off of the street either. :turned:

Oh absolutely. Particularly at the end of the show when Travis sees the massive shooting going on outisde of the fences and they've been told all along that nothing is living out there. They will want to do nothing more then to go see what is up.
I was kinda hoping the junkie would overdose under the bed. That would have been pretty awesome, having him turn and eat all of them
Last nights episode was really good, I thought. I thought it interesting that the Dr. said "Everyone turns at different times". I was happy to hear this because this was always debated on TWD.
I find the military "Cobalt" code word to be pretty implausible. A military that is having trouble staying alive on their own against the zombie hordes has a master plan to kill innocent civilians instead of trying to use their strengths to try to gain a foothold? These are American soldiers being asked to kill American civilians on native soil. Pretty far fetched. Even for a zombie apocalypse show.

Shane Walsh had a pretty good view of them hosing people in the hospital. Was that supposed to be a last ditch effort?

I agree with this. I talk to a lady at work about the show and she just keeps saying "Soldiers just do as their told." Man, there's no way it would go down like that. The world is collapsing and you're just going to shoot random people and keep others in the dark? No way.

And soldiers DON'T just do as they're told. It doesn't work that way in Western militaries anymore.
