Quote:True, but it's more than just the better numbers that has me giving the edge to Derek. Watching him against the Ravens I noticed some nice deep throws where he planted with a picture-perfect downfield strikes that just makes you say "wow." True Blake has some of his own deep throws, but they flutter in the air and sort of require the receiver to track them down. They don't make you turn to your buddy and say, "did you see that throw?"

Bortles has had those passes too, but his receivers have dropped them.

Having said that, I give the (slight) edge to Carr until Bortles can improve his second half play.
(First post) When I was on staff at BSU, we played Bortles in our Bowl game, and I was very impressed with him.  I watched every game on film of his junior year leading up to that game, and thought very highly of him.  I watched the game on Sunday and felt that he is getting better and on an upward trajectory.
I think Bortles is a lot closer to Carr than people give him credit for, upon rewatching games. It's more of the offensive penalties and the receivers dropping balls than him for why this offense is stagnant in the second half. Not to say he deserves no blame, but not nearly the majority of it. Especially this past game, I don't put any of the blame on him. He played well enough to have a 350+ yard game with more TDs but the players around him failed to deliver that for him.

Honestly I think Carr, Bortles, and Bridgewater are all pretty close. Guys are hard on Bridgewater here but he's doing what the coaching staff is asking of him. There's a reason Bridgwater has the highest QBR despite having less production.

The reason is that he's Chad Pennington. They know his limitations, and have retooled to mitigate those limitations.

Rarely throwing the ball past the LOS in the air means you're always throwing high percentage passes.

It really isn't rocket science.

I went back and rewatched the Colts game and I really think we (us fans) are way too critical of Blake Bortles game play, because he doesnt have the best WRs, or OLine, or RBs, or OC in the league.

He is doing the best with what he has & he's only in his 2nd year in the NFL (and didnt play his entire rookie year).

Its funny how everyone deleted their Teddy vote lol, dude was in 1st at one point and now he is in last haha
Bortles and its not even close

Thats funny that deleting votes is even an option lol. I still went with Blake.
I feel like people that voted teddy originally never watched him play. He is awkward and can't throw the deep ball. He will be a great game manager and that's about it.
Blake is having a much better year this season, too bad he got injured

correction turns out not to be that serious of an injury....

great news... im starting him in my fantasy team this week along with Hurns!

Teddy has 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions so far this season. Wow.

3 tds, 4 ints

People complain that bortles threw for 3 tds and 3 int in a game. 3 and 4 in 5 games is pathetic.

Peterson only has 3 rushing tds this year. The counter point would be the jags don't have a single rushing td. But that means more pressure and defenses that key in on the pass.

I meant opposing defenses making jaguars one dimensional. Bortles has that disadvantage but is still out performing teddy.
I'm still saying Carr > Bortles > Bridgewater, however, Bortles is closing the gap on Carr.

Unfortunately they all have better head coaches then BB5 does and it's not even debatable.
Teddy looks awful.
