They have better coaching,  Cooper who imo will be an all time great WR, a 2 time Biletnikoff winner,  along with a great oline.  Carr is taking is making the most of it and playing damn good right now.  But Teddy is the next Manning/Brady/Elway/Rodgers.  Neither Bortles nor Carr will ever get to that level.  Dont make me go pull the old threads to prove it

Hahahahahaha what a joke. He's not even close to a top reciever
Derek is having an outstanding 2nd year,no doubt. And he's almost caught up with Blake in TD's.

To be fair he did say "top 10 pick" receivers. Which he was.

He said top 10 pick.  The guy is not a top reciever but when healthy he is one of the most reliable and a good one
I think it is very likely we have the next 2 great QBs of the league in Carr and Bortles, the next ''Manning vs Brady'' If you will. That would be pretty sick!

lol
Bridgewater is a glorified clipboard holder. Nothing special about him. I haven't seen him put the team on his back yet

Derek Carr is playing very well right now there's no denying that. I watched the majority of the game today and was very impressed by both the Raiders ability to pass protect and Carr's ability to make plays when he had time.

I would say Carr is playing the best ball of the second year QBs only because he takes care of the ball better than Bortles right now. Bortles is playing well though and I see him improving weekly so I have no issue at all with Bortles being the Jags franchise QB.

Anybody claiming Carr is a top 5 QB right now is simply trolling.
Bortles, Carr and Bridgewater have all played 7 games this season.

Would someone post all of their numbers through those 7 games this season and we can all see who is having the better season so far this year.

Unfortunately both of the other guys have a better and more experienced HC, so Bortles is at a disadvantage there, which is one of the reasons he has the worst W/L record of the 3.

I must say I have been impressed with what JDR has been able to do with Carr and the Raiders, although I have not been able to watch much of their play this season, but I have been checking out the game stats of thier games.

I would take both JDR and Zimmer over Gus every day of the week and twice on Sunday, ainec.

I think its funny that people claim Bortles has a higher ceiling than Carr but have nothing to back up the claim at all.

If we had Carr. They would say the same thing about Bortles. Its like clockwork
Better coach out there in Oakland as well

Because some folks see the name Carr and can't stop thinking about David.

They refuse to see Derek isn't David.

I'm not saying Carr's ceiling is higher, just that Derek typically doesn't get the credit he deserves.  Some see him as David no matter what he does, which is beyond silly.

Carr will reach the higher status quicker. I think Bortles has a ceiling of top 10 qb ala Roethlisberger, but I don't think he will show us that until next year.

I'm just happy we have a franchise qb, that could potentially be more than that. In the end, both will be franchise qbs. Bortles is better outside the pocket, and Carr looks like he can be deadly from the pocket.

Atleast we don't have a Kaepernick type qb
I have to revise my earlier comment,he did catch blake in TD's.But both qb's are doing well, with the edge to Derek.Teddy trails the other 2.These stats taken from NFL.com QB passing list

15 Blake Bortles JAC QB 151 271 55.7 38.7 1,812 6.7 258.9 15 8 92 33.9 59T 29 5 19 82.5

According to ProFootball Focus it would be Carr, then Teddy at 10 of top 10 QBs, blake didnt even get mentioned..

even though I voted for Blake, i think its obvious that this is more of a homer poll.. i mean it could've been non-bias if Blake wasn't even mentioned in it... and if they simply asked who is better Carr or Bridgewater for example..

Teddy has been stinking up the field. It's just the Vikings keep winning in spite of him with their running game and defense. Carr is legit, and Blake isn't that far behind him.

the teal kool aid is strong on this board

carr: cool, calm and collected

its not a coincidence that they win when he plays well.  his passion for the game is contagious  and to think we passed on him after having first hand experience during the senior bowl.  the dude makes quick reads and decisions and gets rid of the ball quick. very brady-esque.

I really have to ask most people in this post......Who Cares!!!!

Is Bridgewater or Carr a Jaguar? In case you don't know Bortels is.

This is all about what you said before the 2014 draft.GO PULL FOR THE RAIDERS AND VICKINGS.

I pull for my players not fight on a stupid message board about you are trying to prove you are right.

Pathetic!
