Tom gets his day in court:

This court thing appears to be taking its toll on Tom Brady

So what's the score?
Quote:While I definitely see many valid points, I'm tired of the players union constantly complaining about unfairness of appeals being heard by Goodell, when its in the CBA that he will have that power. Did they even read the dang thing?

Exactly, and this is why the whole "I hate Goodell" thing to me makes no sense. You signed up for this knowing exactly what you were getting into...it was even a focal point of the last CBA. Now you want to complain?

http://www.usnews.com/news/sports/articl...te-hearing

Judge Richard M. Berman on Wednesday repeatedly asked NFL lawyer Daniel L. Nash for direct evidence as he gave both sides a chance to state their case in the first court hearing in the case.

The NFL's weakness here is, they simply don't have any direct evidence to support this. In addition, the circumstantial is flimsy at best.

The judge says: "You might say (Brady) got no better advantage from the under-inflation."

A salient point many have made all along.

IMO... Brady has an extremely good chance of winning this. Goodell never got the case he wanted, yet still ruled the way he wanted anyway because he was mad at Brady for standing up to him and defying him.

Does the judge think they cooked up this scheme for ONE GAME?

Prove otherwise..hell, prove they did it for ONE game.

You simply can't.

If this happened all the time then why was the investigation fixated on a specific phone and records at a specific time? If Tom (as reported) gave up phone records prior to this event (from May 2014 to November 2014) then why are they concerned with proving he cheated at a particular time if they could have busted him for cheating at any time during the season? If giving up phone records exonorates him (like Goodell seems to elude to) then doesn't this exonerate him for that peroid as well?

Uh, just wondering ...

Even the judge can't get past the point of it all...

"show me proof he deflated balls"

can't. he destroyed his phone that kind of had the proof on it... but that isn't even the point.

here is the proof he did not fully cooperate with said investigation, which led to it's findings being "incomplete".

an indictment which falls under personal conduct policy...

here is the CBA, which was agreed upon by the NFLPA, which gives Goodell this power.

HERE'S YOUR 4 GAMES TOMMY BOY!

What does it matter if they have proof? Why is the Judge even asking?

The judge, by the unanswerable questions to the NFL, is proving their decision has no merit. Their opinion he was involved has no merit without proof.
If we were not playing the Patriots in week 3 I wouldn't be following, nor care, about any of this.
If Tom did give up phone records, do you think there was any evidence on them? Me neither.

Hillary just gave up her server, too - after it was professionally scrubbed. I guess that proves she's innocent.

Tom Brady most likely cheated, and has cheated in our ways in the past. That being said I don't think the punishment would stick in court because can an employeer lay you off /suspession for destroying your own personal property (Cell phone), or because you may or may not have told another person to break company policies? I don't think the NFL has enough facts to support the case.
personally, they are all wrong, i bet tom, jokingly, may have had a ballboy mess with psi to promote autographs without knowing this was such a big deal. just cause the pats won, they are all cry babies,,,,, this is no more than an innocent fred belitnikoff style mistake, by this logic, the saints should all be in jail. and bountygate sinners and incognito should be expelled permanently......are you telling me tom brady would, if he knew everyone was such a jealous nerd, and this was a serious infraction, would even bother........they say "ignorance of the law is no excuse " but this is as simple as a bryan cox breathe right strip from the 90's, or a longer cleat, or a backwards tape to help catch. how can you know that a bunch of nerds like the media, godell, and a broken economy that needs to sell papers, be so overeacting....since there in no real precedence, the fine should be a 7th round pick, a small fine, and maybe one game.....if that. unknown rules cannot be treated like a murder case, also, we all know what goes on, on the inside, if you are literal with tom with the by the book rules, what about all the b.s. the other teams get away with, the seahawks are the most steroid penalized, i bet 75% or more of the league is doing something, whether it be smokin, tokin, or buying bull glands from gnc...every pro at this level has a trick up their sleeve. you can jail 85% of the league for more than a brady sin, then why punish brady for the least heinous sin ? amateur sports is where the real blood and guts are, we do not get paid, and do not enhance through trickery.......

personally, outside of florida football, tampa, miami, and JACKSONVILLE, rest of nfl can go home, i am going to watch olympic diving or basketball, nfl is getting to artificial and criminal...look at adrian peterson, or ray rice, 70's paralysis of stingley still bother me, football is barbaric and can be unco-ordinated at times. just a fat guy falling into your leg and snapping it. some sport....outside of qb play, and intelligence of play schemes, sometimes, i wonder ?

rice,.a.p., stingley, incognito, etc.... real issues, brady, an innocent mistake that caused no harm.....Saints, the real undeserved superbowl, if compared to the pats infractions.......
