Quote:LOL .... he was a mascot dude.
Have you ever been to a game?

I'm sure he's one of those its about wins and what happens on the field!  As if winning isn't important to someone that enjoyed Jaxson de Ville on the field and in the community.
Moved back to where it belongs, I see... Thank you  !!!

Never underestimate the power of angry people in large groups.

Exactly, we all want the wins but to downplay the love this fanbase has for this mascot is senseless.  Unless he's never been to a game, then of course he doesn't get it.
Quote:So the requirements for the job posting should read as:

College educated

Experienced BASE jumper preferred

Semi-Professional golfer

Ability to ride a Segway

Must be able to stand for hours on end and withstand 100+ degree temperatures inside a 50 pound suit

Able to entertain crowds of 65k plus

Am I missing anything?
Ability to do back flips on a bicycle

Ability to rappel

Ability to perform complex dance routines with cheerleaders

Ability to ride a continuous wheelie on a mini bike
Time to clean house. How Caldwell was not able to get a lifetime contract done is beyond me. You tried Khan but it's time for a new direction

Yes I've gone to most of them since moving down here in the Year 2000.   Unfortunately, I'm over 12 years old so he really doesn't do that much for me.

Right, because it couldn't possibly be the fact that he thinks you guys are wasting an awful lot of energy opining the fact that a guy wearing a cat suit is going to be replaced by another guy wearing the same suit.

Curtis is a legend, but c'mon.  Really?  They will find a replacement, and I'll venture to guess nobody will be able to tell the difference when they do.  In fact, there's even the remotest of possibilities that whoever does take over in that role might even do a better job.  I know, impossible to believe, but that does indeed represent a potential reality.

And before you get into the "Well, if you've been to a game..." nonsense, I've missed one home game in 20 years.  I was there before Curtis and Jaxson existed.  Yes, he has proven to be entertaining in that role, and at times he was the only highlight for some pretty dreary games.  Still, it's a guy in a cat suit.  That suit will live on, and it will simply have a new tenant.

Nobody is downplaying the love the fan base has for this mascot, and the fan base isn't going to LOSE the mascot, so that love can continue.

No, I'm just not a mascot dude or really care about the barrel roll and other gimmicky things.

I'm much rather see the Bethune Cookman band at halftime than Jaxon or some Publix sponsored events

You mean to tell me you don't have a pair of Curtis Dvorak footie pajamas?

Well aren't you just so jaded and everything?

He's the guy at the night club sitting in the back in sunglasses and black leather chain smoking and putting off that "I'm cool" beatnik vibe. Wink

I remember you saying this last year when Frank Frangie took over for Brian Sexton and #BecauseJaguars, we unfortunately managed to do worse. If people aren't overly optimistic about the new guy coming in then you can't really blame them.

They're the greatest marching band in the world!  Or at least the announcer guy says it every time they perform.

Lol, who's putting in all the energy again?

Well aren't you mister mature.  I think his entertainment was much more geared toward adults than kids.
