Quote:Courageous, as opposed to what?

Moot point. His chances are about the same as Bibby having a pork sandwich while studying the koran in Tehran, with BO giving him a back rub.

Courageous is his narrative.  "You conservatives are being persecuted, but you can stand up for your rights!"

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

While I still wait to hear more of Scott Walker's positions,  I think he has potential to be both a good candidate and President.     Much like with Ted Cruz,  Walker has courage and leadership qualities that appeal on this end.

A ticket with Scott Walker and Ted Cruz would have potential.  The Republican base likely will support this ticket much more than the last two Republican Presidential Tickets.    If the Republicans don't do a better job of getting their own base out to vote,  another defeat is likely.

I don't have a problem with him calling for "courageous conservatives" much of the conservative problem has been their desire to cowardice to moderate/liberal positions. Cruz is a conservative he's simply telling his base it's time to grow a spine and show contrast to the moderates. Personally I'd prefer a courageous conservative, one that admits policies like the "War on drugs", "Foreign Intervention", and "Defense of Marriage" are all excessive abuses by the state and infringe on individual liberty.

Conservatism is under "attack" in today's political atmosphere, problem is it's often under attack by those who claim the name of conservative themselves.

Cruz is not running for president in 2016, he's running for either 2020 or 2024.

Ted Cruz is a big fan of Defense of Marriage.  He thinks it should be a states issue, and not a civil rights issue.  He also is anti-drug, and has stated that Obama is wrong for not continuing to prosecute drug users in states that have legalized marijuana because 'it's the law'.  (Which would ignore the state's right to make marijuana legal in the first place, imo)

I don't think conservatism is any more under attack than liberalism in the political atmosphere.

That was kind of my point, him saying conservatism is under attack while he's been guilty of attacking true conservatism himself.

In some area's he can be very hypocritical, but I'm hard pressed to find a politician that isn't.

You mean the guy who read Green Eggs and Ham during a government shut down and didn't realize the irony of reading that particular Dr Suess book???

Lol, the guy is not bright enough to comprehend a kid's book.

He sounds a little bit too much like Mr. Haney to allow me to listen to him with a straight face.

The White House does not approve of the qualifications of a one term senator with an ethnic last name, even if he is a Harvard graduate.

I'm sure those qualities will be lauded this time around

Wasn't Cruz a former kitchen worker? Heard he was a Seuss Chef.
