Good, I can't wait for the laughs it will bring watching them and their supporters spin the hypocrisy.
No ultra right has a chance at the white house IMO, just like no true progressive.
I don't think Cruz has any realistic shot at winning the White House. He's a bit too extreme, and won't do well with independents who identify as leaning Republican.
I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

I like Cruz but he's a bit to hawkish on foreign policy and the war on drugs to be my first choice. However id take him in a heartbeat over Jeb Bush, Christie, or any of the democrats.
I also see no chance he's even one of the top 3 nominees when it's all said and done.
Personally,
I think that Cruz is only being hyped by the liberal media, since they know he's a vulnerable candidate. Just like Jeb. There's going to be a lot of questions and ad hominem attacks regarding his record as a Senator in Texas, his birthright, citizenship, his overseeing on the Senate Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation (with claims that he doesn't believe in climate change/global warming), his record on the armed services, economic, R &A, and judiciary committee's. As well as the fact that he tends to have hawkish views, and that they're going to make him sound like he's this crazy Texan. He also has some close personal ties with big wall street banks like Goldman Sachs; which is certainly going to raise some eyebrows. Cruz is obviously not my first choice for nominee (I'm going for Walker and Paul), but he's better than having an election between the Bush and Clinton "dynasties".
From my vantage point as a Ted Cruz supporter, I realize that he has an uphill battle to win the nomination. That's the case for any Republican candidate who the establishment of the party and the media is against. Despite this, I think it's very important for Ted Cruz' voice to be part of the debate. I'm certainly planning on making campaign contributions to Cruz' campaign, as long as he's still in the race.

I look at Cruz as the Huckabee of this race, he'll have a good base but trouble extending his reach beyond that base. I don't mean that as a negative for Cruz either, I like Cruz and agree with his politics 70-80% of the time, Huckabee on the other hand can kick rocks.
It doesnt matter Jed Bush will win because MaBush - is at the end meaning that another Bush is elected after Obama - its been predicted.

Cruz. A Canadian.Yay. Healthcare for everyone.
Wait. He's Cuban? Guess he expects to lock up Miami and Little Quebec down there near Lauderdale. He's cruzin for a bruisin. Might as well get sister Sara to run with him. I'd bet on Jag Super Bowl before plastic face sniffs the nomination. In fact I'll say it right now...I'll eat green eggs and ham if he wins nomination.

But but but won't he get support from all the " courageous conservatives" ? His campaign ad asks for it.
I'm confused more than ever now. Fiscal conservative. Social conservative. Tea Party conservative. Real conservative. Courageous conservative. Rush Limbaugh conservative. Who will destroy who? Bush, Walker ( not the Walking Dead one...well sorta), Paul, Huckleberry, Carson, Christie, Rubio, Cruz, Kasich, Perry, InSantorum, Graham, Jindal. So many choices. Yet, so little choices. like the menu at an Eskimo buffet. The debates should be fun.

Am I the only one who finds it funny that Cruz is trying to rally the Christian Right, when a couple of years ago he said "Too many candidates wear their faith on their sleeves."

"Courageous Conservative" just feeds into the persecution complex that a few Republicans have.
It's a smart move by Cruz though. It'll be interesting to see what the first Democrats to announce their candidacy come out with. It'll be hard for them to replicate Obama's "Change you can believe in" Wouldn't be surprised to see the Republicans bring back the old "Are you better off today than you were four years ago?" The Democrats used that one recently, iirc. I can remember Obama asking it. The Democrats have a few moves they can make, but they'll have to do much better than they did in the midterm elections where their policy was to distance themselves from Obama to pander to conservative independents. Cruz has set the stage. How things proceed from here on out will be interesting.

Quote:"Courageous Conservative" just feeds into the persecution complex that a few Republicans have.Which was dumb. Pandering to the base is the right's bread and butter. Quote:"Courageous Conservative" just feeds into the persecution complex that a few Republicans have.Courageous, as opposed to what? Moot point. His chances are about the same as Bibby having a pork sandwich while studying the koran in Tehran, with BO giving him a back rub.
