If every GM in the league called Caldwell tomorrow...

Quote:come on people.  I like blake as much as everyone else but to say after 4 preseason games he is as good or better than luck?  I have to question your football knowledge.  luck is a top 5 qb in his 3rd year.  hopefully blake will be there soon.  but I would take luck right now anyday.  and maybe throw in a draft pick or two.

Umm..Blaine Gabbert out dueled Luck in Indy in 2012 for the Jags first win that season.

Quote:Luck is not a top five QB. Luck is upper half, maybe cracking the top ten. I think he's a good player, but he's not (yet?) in the same discussion as Brees, Manning, Brady... Keep Bortles.
lol, and you dont even name the top qb?. I thought you knew a little about football. You're still young but you will learn son!

Because it's subjective... Way to use your age, bro. That's a great tool to use in your arguments. IMO, the top 5 QBs in the league are Brady, Brees, Manning, Rodgers, and Rivers. I would not take Luck over any of those QBs.

But yeah way to use an ad hominem argument instead of discussing an actual issue. Really shows your advanced football knowledge.

Andrew Luck is no way top 5.

The following are better than him:

Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Aaron Rodgers, Matt Ryan, Matt Stafford, Tony Romo, Phillip Rivers, and Ben Rothlisberger.  Nick Foles could get consideration if he shows consistency.

You might could argue for one or two of those not being on the list.  But it'd certainly be an argument.

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.

Wow a lot of you are underestimating Luck. I'm loving Bortles but he hasn't even played a regular season game yet.

You know Luck has as many playoff wins as Romo in only 2 years right?

Andrew Luck so far has shown me he has the ability to be a good QB.  However he was touted as the next big thing and he hasn't shown me that.

Time will tell.

I'd give Bortles up for the next ten years of that team's first and second round selections. They'd hang up thinking Caldwell was trolling them. If he caught Jerry Jones during happy hour and this deal was made. The entire city of Dallas would be on lockdown out of sheer outrage and anger.

The colts team is overall pretty terrible so the fact that theyve made the playoffs just shows how good luck is

Quote:I love Bortles just as much as you guys but he hasn't played in a real game yet. To say you wouldn't trade Bortles for Luck is nuts. I hate that Luck is in the Colts because we will always have to compete against him and he's very very good. Did you see the Chiefs playoff game?

I am so glad we have Bortles but saying you wouldn't trade him for Luck is like saying you wouldn't trade Wiggins for Durant.
Lol exactly, people are saying Luck has higher ceiling then Luck are crazy, could he end up better yea, but the dude has played 4 preseason games and 1 against starters.

Luck is the LeBron James of the NFL, hyped player that has lived up to all the hype

I like Bortles for us now but come on people get real

Romo when he is on his game is easily better than Luck.  Sure, he chokes.  But it's not like Luck didn't have 4 interceptions in his last playoff game.  Even Peyton had a penchant for choking in the playoffs until his team got a formidable defense.

You clearly know nothing about QB's. Luck is working with a way below average defense, probably the worst o-line in football, no running backs and TY Hilton... and he still had 11 wins and a playoff win last year. All in his second season in the NFL.

Lebron was hyped as a once-in-a-generation type talent and has lived up to it.

Luck was hyped as the same and if you think he has lived up to it, you are insane. He's only two years into his career, so he has plenty of time. I will say that Ryan Grigson is doing him no favors by surrounding him with mediocre talent.

I was talking talent level...but since you're talking about success the Lebron James comparison makes it even more laughable.

Lebron?  Cmon, for real.  Luck has a loooong way to go before he's on that level.  Lebron is a topic of conversation for one of the greatest of all time.  Luck is still working on being in the conversation of top 10 today.
