Jobless Americans sue Florida for ending $300 unemployment benefits early

The real problem is progressives are all in on socialism. The right is constitutionalist. I think social welfare with constitutional restrictions, and laws that enforce transparency and accountability is the best compromise.

Most people don't have a clue how it works, so they just look at their own issues of I don't have enough money so give me more. They never see the person who put in the work in school, college, trade school, etc who would then be getting paid the same as someone trying to make a living working as a cashier, so that person say no way, you need to increase my pay because this deadbeat is making the same as me now. That doesn't work. My husband is in the camp of having two degrees he worked and paid for with no student loans and has been in his field for 25 years. To think a cashier or any minimum wage/unskilled worker would make anywhere near roughly half of what he does straight out of high school or whatever...hell no. He said he'd be tempted to leave local government and go to private industry where he would make a lot more, but if he does that before his retirement date in five years he loses benefits, pension and other stuff.

Wow! You make it sound so easy!! Except it’s pretty much everywhere. It’s not just one industry. Since you’ve got it all figured out, please help me with my dilemma. I’ve been hiring at 15/hr before it was “cool”. That’s for someone with no experience. I’ve got guys making 20 or more per. But they’re very much worth it. I do lawn maintenance. How do I sell my company over Walmart and restaurants starting at the same pay? (They too are having issues hiring people in case you didn’t know) I at least offer 10 paid weeks off in the winter. 30-40k+/yr and we only work 42 weeks! Beat that Walmart, or any other “minimum wage” job. If we happen to work on those off weeks, I gladly pay the guys extra! We’ve been looking for at least one, preferably 2 guys, for the last 8 or so months. Maybe longer. I try to hire decent people. But perhaps, in your eyes we’re all garbage. Not gonna lie, I may have a guy or two that’ll accept that monicker as not to go to jail/prison vs beating the [BLEEP] out of you for calling them that. My record is clean. I’ll do a day or so in county to stick up for them. ![]()

If you don't have employees it is your own fault. Make your job more attractive. Whether it be better pay, better benefits or just be a better place to work. These companies need to stop making excuses You offer a way better gig than Wal- Mart. That is why people will choose to work for you. And if you treat them right, good chance they won't want to leave. No one works for Wal-Mart unless they have to.

It does sucks at times. Even with what I offer and treating them well, I still can’t find the extra help I need. But I am not alone. Not just in my industry but most industries are in the same boat. But perhaps, that’s part of the plan. Kill off all the small businesses. |
