Philbin Fired
|
It's about expectations. Philbin came into a team that was already competitive and in the 4th year the team so far has looked worse than in the prior few years. Bradley came into a situation with a failed QB as his starter and a roster that was gutted and needed to be rebuilt and the only way you rebuild effectively is through the draft. Our team's approach takes time, but it will be worth the wait. We're not that far away and the season isn't lost yet. Bradley isn't going anywhere just yet.
As this board discussed during the preseason what the Jags prospects would be through the first 4 games, most realistic fans felt we'd be something like 1 and 3. Guess what? We're 1 and 3 and people are as ready to jump off the Wells Fargo building as they've ever been. This team is CLEARLY better than it has been the previous two years and that's apparent even though we're banged up. This team will get better as the season goes along as it learns how to better finish games and also as our key injured players get healthy. Yesterday hurts. It's a game that we earned the win for but weren't rewarded with it. We aren't a playoff team yet, but our division is so weak we actually have a shot at the division this year. A game like yesterday will probably come back to haunt us at the end of the season, but a team is rarely the same in the first 4 weeks as it is in the last 4 weeks of the regular season. Some teams get better, some get worse. This team moves the ball and plays sound defense. We just need to turn field goals into touchdowns and when we are forced to settle for a field goal we actually need to convert it. We show less advertisements to registered users. I'm sorry, but I don't really care to always hear about "expectations". I understand that all teams in the league are in different places in terms of their rosters and staff, but every single team in this league should expect to win and expect to compete. I'm tired of being told that my favorite team doesn't even expect themselves to be worth a dang. If you don't expect to compete, don't even show up in uniform or on the sidelines.
Quote:That's the franchise we should try to emulate right?Would u take 24-28 over 8-28? they are obviously doing it 16 more wins better than we are. I would take that over 8-28. Maybe not the model franchise, but what we are doing is way worse.
Quote:Dolphins were expected to be a Playoff team this year, we were not Uh OH
I survived the Gus Bradley Error.
Well, it's like they say, "lose to Gus and you're on the bus".
There is currently only 1 HC who has survived losing to Gus.

Quote:Which coach was that? Tom Coughlin.
Quote:Our next win against Tampa will result in Lovie being firedProbably in most owner's minds the Jaguars are the leagues worst team and if the Jaguars can beat you, you must stink. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

We have a business location in South Florida and spend an equal amount of time there. The Philbin firing was long overdue. Many in the sports circle there felt strongly that the Dolphins had a chance to go 6-0 with the schedule.
Well, Dan Campbell, the interim Head Coach for Miami, is following the Del Rio footsteps it would seem. I wonder how this will turn out.
I'm trying to make myself more informed and less opinionated.
Stop saying whatever stupid thing you're talking about and pay attention to all the interesting things I have to say! We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! |
