Why retain Dave Caldwell?
|
Quote:That Ravens draft produced the premier run stopping nose tackle in the NFL, the best fullback in the NFL, and one of the top 10 RTs in the league...Dontari Poe would be the best run stopping NT. FB is a position that is being phased out. Half the teams don't even use one. Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!

You guys are REACHING for excuses for Dave. Weve picked top 5 every year hes been employed, theres no reason to defend him unless you just dont want to admit failure.
Quote:Dontari Poe would be the best run stopping NT.Poe isnt better than BWill lol. Poe hasnt been anything special for like 2 years
Quote:Damon Harrison and BWill are top two in the league by farYep, would have been a decent comeback only if he said Snacks. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Our 2013 draft is absolutely inexcusable.
When you consider how high we were drafting, and how poor our roster was - the fact that we haven't gotten a single player to stick 4 years later is laughably bad. Terrible.

Quote:Our 2013 draft is absolutely inexcusable.Lol. Demetrius McCray was an all pro level player for a year. DRob was a high level offensive weapon, Joeckel was a road grading guard for a few games this year. Jeremy Harris had a pass deflection in 2013. Cyps the 7th best safety in all of football this year. Pretty good draft.
SuperJville,
If we agree that the 2013 draft was bad due to the lack of players we wish to retain beyond the 4 year mark, can we also agree that by that same standard, the 2014 draft was at least good, based upon credible arguments to be made that Lee, AR15, Linder Telvin Smith, and Hurns have either all been re-signed or are likely to be re-signed, and that Bortles still has a chance to fall within that category? Worst to 1st. Curse Reversed!
Quote:SuperJville, the 2014 draft was much better. I see us keeping Robinson, Linder, Smith, Hurns (he's already re-signed). We will see on Bortles, but I personally don't think he's back with us in 2018. Unfortunately (at least right now), the 2015 draft also doesn't look very good. Fowler wasn't very good but we have to give him time. Yeldon was a big reach. Cann has been poor after a solid rookie year. Sample is injured nonstop and probably will end up being a bust for that reason. Rashad Greene started off promising but took a major step back last year. Bennett never plays. Sterling looks like he could contribute. I think Caldwell's future really hinges on the 2015 draft class. If Fowler turns to a 10+ sack guy and a real impact player, then Dave doesn't look so bad. If Fowler ends up behin Ngakoue and becomes a rotational player - I think that also turns into a terrible draft.

Quote:Caldwell's fault regardless of who the scouts were. Very true. He said he made the Bortles selection before even consulting with his scouts. Kept it a secret just to see if they came up with the same result.

LOL
Caldwell didnt just keep all Smiths scouts. He just didn't gut the whole department like some thought he might. Not sure where this false narrative is rooted. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Quote:LOL The time framewhen hired. Did not allow him to gather his people up. Si some sources most likely were inaccurate.
