I'm shocked the Browns let him go. I guess it just shows how good they are on the O-Line. It must be nice. Granted the Browns appear to have a deep line, Greco is 32 with back to back significant injuries to end 2015 and 2016. He sprained the MCL on his left knee in December 2015, had a lisfranc sprain on his right foot in November 2016. Ended both seasons on IR. Missed 2017 offseason recovering from lisfranc surgery as expected. Wasn't cleared for team drills till July 29. His cut was imminent and documented. Jags need help, so why not? But I'm not sure you'd be getting a savior. #BrandenAlbertFreshOnTheirMinds

I definitely don't see him as a savior, but I do see him as an upgrade over our current OG's. I view him as a short term solution, but definitely not a long term answer. Again, you're late to the party. Had you bothered to read the thread, you would have known that 2 people had already explained it, and did so without being arrogant and condescending. Do you even bother to read what people write, or are you here to just troll? Actually, I enjoy the way JW talks down to people, and I especially enjoy their reaction to it. You know, if people got banned for arrogance and condescension, there'd be no one left.

Very sure Greco's got enough experience that he's not going to hit waivers. Completely sure that Greco is one of those players who's an upgrade only because you've heard his name before. After looking back, you're right. He's an UFA. B. Absolutely not. I realize he's not elite, but what we have at OG now, is nothing short of hot garbage. And adding hot, stale, putrid, rotting garbage to it isn't going to make the rest of the line smell less like [BLEEP]. The kind of guy I'd target on waivers along the OL--and we definitely need to add a body or two--is a younger player with something resembling potential that lost out in a numbers game. A guy like what the team saw in Shatley and Wells a few years ago, who might develop into something down the line. Even if the guy's going to develop into another flaming bag of dog poo, I'd rather take the shot at a guy with the ability to develop, not someone who's already done and not going to get any less washed-up as the year progresses. Remember, this is Coughlin's mulligan year, and likely Marrone's too. None of the QBs on this roster are the answer. Playing Bortles over Henne given the risk of eating Bortles' salary next year indicates that this isn't a team out to tank for the first pick...yet. If we do end up folding up the tents and playing Henne, would you rather have someone on the line who's old and bad, someone we already know is bad, or someone who might end up being not terrible?

I'm operating under the assumption that between Bortles and the OL, the season is already just about lost. I'd rather be bad and young than bad and old. At least when you have a bad, old player he's more likely to sign a short term deal and you can cut him quicker. Younger guys don't want short term deals, so when they suck you're stuck with them for a longer period of time unless you wanna take a cap hit. I'm looking for a band aid, because for now, there's no miracle cure coming. With Greco, they would be, because the second the first game begins with him on the roster, his 2017 salary is guaranteed.
