Houston definitely has the emotional momentum on this one. Regardless of the hurricane, taking into account what we saw in preseason, I would have given this game to Houston anyway. My biggest hope is that we at least look competitive to the end.

This post made me realize Jacksonville has an emotional momentum too because the cities swapped hurricane modes.

I thought we had already covered how meaningless preseason games are in predicting the success of games that matter.

I'm assuming the Jags will go 3 and out for the first few possessions, amid the electric atmosphere and noise in the first quarter. Punting is not a four-letter word today.

The first key for me is the first drive, period. Doesn't matter who gets the ball first.

Of course punting is not a four-letter word today. It is always a seven-letter word.

Yannick is the starter. But when Dante Fowler is on the field, he should be good enough to get the job done.

They are often on the field together on third down. Yannick on the weak side, Fowler on the strong side.

So where is Calais Campbell on third down?

He plays in the middle on 3rd down in passing situations.

Good gawd, they're preempting all the local game day coverage so that we can watch the same weather forecast rehashed over and over.

Well folks, let's see what we've got. Tough game, but should be a decent measuring stick. Excited to see our CB duo, 4nette, and how Cam holds up.

I'll be rooting em on from Richmond, VA, I'm off to the liquor store for my gameday bourbon.

I think the biggest factor in this game is our secondary. We've got the talent in the secondary, but the fact that they didn't play much together in the preseason is the big concern. Will they be sharp and communicate well?

Other than Hopkins the Texans don't have a lot of weapons so if we can generate any semblance of a pass rush the secondary needs to be able to come up with some interceptions in order to keep us in the game.

And for heaven's sake, can someone cover the TE over the middle!

Third and medium/third and long often looks like:

Fowler - Campbell - Jackson - Ngakoue

I really hope they can get home a few times today and get Savage rattled. They should be able to against that O-Line.

Somewhat surprised about Blair Brown considering how well he played in the preseason and how thin we are at LB.

A.J. Bouye probably told some secrets in defensive back meetings last week. If Jalen Ramsey knows DeAndre Hopkins said he can't cover him, he has some extra motivation. So even Hopkins may not be very effective today, especially with Will Fuller and Braxton Miller ruled out.

I know you are just talking about the offense here because all of Houston's best players are on defense. I am more concerned about Lenoard Fournette finding room to run to kill the game clock and Blake Bortles having time to throw.

Yeah. Me too  -- but they like McCray at SAM and he's active.  Jack could move to the middle if Poz is hurt and would probably be fine at Will as well if Telvin is banged up.

From Texas, stay safe my fellow Floridian Jags friends!

I'm excited about watching the Jags play again!
Not excited about the excessive use of flags and commercials incoming tho.
