The poster I quoted clearly meant the second matchup this year, which is what I was referencing. I did not need to reiterate that in the third sentence of my post. In fact, that would have been redundant. So no, in no way will it be possible for me to see if we could have shut Watson down in our second meeting this season. Is that clear?

I was skeptical. I figured the other shoe would drop soon now that teams have a decent body of tape to breakdown on the guy.

How is he not close? He has more TDs and averages more rushing yards per game. If he continues playing at a high level and leads the Jags to the playoffs, I can see him winning OROY.

Robert Griffin seems to be a rare case. I can't remember any other QB going from instant Pro Bowler to high profile bust after one knee surgery.

Kaeperniick was good when his coach was Jim Harbaugh and bad with every other coach. What does that tell you?

Totally agree. Ravens actually matchup well against the Titans. If we can beat the Bengals and Titans lose, I think that's huge going forward. 

If the Jags take care of business and beat who they should (Ari, Cle, SF, Indy, Hou), then that gives the Jags 9 wins. Couple that with going .500 against Chargers, Cincy, Seattle, Tenn. You're looking at (hopefully) an 11 win team. That should be good enough to win the division or a WC spot.

By my count, we have the same number of road games-4 each.

I think they benefit by Watson's injury more than we do, because we've proven to have success against him.  The tacks were blown out by the Texans. 

We need to take care of business these next 5 weeks to be sure.  I could see Tennessee with three tough games within these next five weeks-Baltimore, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati.  If we win these next five weeks, we could develop a cushion against them going into the last month of the season.

Yea I think Titans struggle this week against the Ravens. Playing @Pitt is hard no matter who you are (unless you're the Jags) and we still have the Browns left.

Texans thing aside this is disappointing news. A lot of disappointing injuries this year. OBJ, Palmer, Rodgers, Z Miller. A lot of guys I like to see out there making plays for my entertainment. And Watson has been very fun to watch and impressive to watch.

It tells you he had a great start and then flamed out like alot of players. Just like RGKnee who like stroudcrowd was saying had a great start and eventually came back down to earth. With or without the knee injury i don't think he would have had a good nfl career. I think a lot of people understood that Watson was on a tear but wouldn't keep this up. Hard to imagine a qb who looked awful in preseason and week 1 would suddenly change and put up drew brees numbers. Unfortunately we won't get to see the streak of good games end naturally. Everyone is saying he will be ready for next season but he has a long road. 8-10 months for recovering puts him awfully close to opening day without an offseason of training. He might come out stronger from this but people need to understand the tough road ahead and hopefully for Texans fans doesn't turn into a bum.
