No rookie will beat him out. Too much to learn in to little time.
And actual cap is actually 30 mill

That's great if the coaching staff doesn't still tip toe around Blake when calling plays. Let him sink or swim. Trust in his abilities.
Smart move for the team. Very cap friendly with "prove it again" incentives and it allows us to move on from him within the next three years in the event he fails to do so. And this is during a year with us having a low draft pick in a suspect QB class. And also during a year where Cousins is fixing to break someone's salary cap and more than likely be the same guy he was in WAS with little to no pay-offs in the play-offs if he's even capable of leading a team to that level.
Trust the process. Trust the front office. Trust the coaching staff. We were one poorly officiated game and probably an Allen Robinson away from making the Superbowl just a month ago. Nobody saw that coming. And if you say you did you're full of [BLEEP]. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? I always liked the idea of a deal like this with Blake, but I never thought he would sign it if he had the confidence that he would develop into a top QB.
After reading his comments, it looks like a powerfully unselfish move on his part. Really I'm just happy my Bortles jersey is safe for a couple more years ![]()
This team has to get Blake some weapons.
He had no real threat at tight end, Hurns who stinks now, and a few rookies. Lets get A rob back and get blake some better weapons. ![]() (02-26-2018, 01:48 PM)jaguarmvp Wrote: This team has to get Blake some weapons.ARob Burton Sitton Draft 1st- Will Hernandez 2nd- Gisecki 3rd- Marcell Ateman Now you got yourself some weapons with an improved Oline.

He finally started to look healthy in the playoffs and led the team in receiving in our last game. Health is the only question with him, but a big one We show less advertisements to registered users. From the estimates I've seen, he'll make a combined $36 million barring incentives for 2018 and 2019. Nah, it's still $18 mil. You're overlooking the $5 mil dead money that would be in the books for 2020 if cut after two years. His cap hit structure is interesting... $10 mil this year... but then $21 mil in 2019 and $23 mil in 2020. That's without earning a possible $4.125 mil more in any year with the incentives. I have a couple questions that I'm not necessarily expecting an answer to, but I might as well ask...

Hopefully they signed good blake. If they signed 'blake' blake, this franchise is doomed.

So, for instance, if another team were to pay him $5 mil to be their backup, the Jaguars would only show $11.5 mil dead money for him instead of $16.5 mil.

The Jag's did the right thing. As far as I know, they can terminate him anytime. Hopefully, he will not be like David Guarrard , who never repeated his best year, and never played at a high level after getting the money.

thanks for the Eisen link. Some of his takes were tongue and cheek but he is spot on about over paying the position. That is crazy money on the list and I'm surprised that he took this contract. I hope the plank take is right on.
