Annual Site Wide Mock GM LOUNGE DISCUSSION

Thing I notice about the Patriots is tall, pass-rushing OLBs, physical safeties, jet-fast CBs, tubby nose guards, and at least one over-the-hill RB.

Pats?

S Justin Reid Stanford? S Ronnie Harrison Alabama? WR Antonio Callaway Florida? WR Deon Cain Clemson? DE Sam Hubbard Ohio State? DT Tim Settle Virginia Tech?

The Patriots got their RB in round one. I'm thinking they're top priotities are replacing Malcolm Butler at CB and Nate Solder at OT.

At OT they could still go Orlando Brown, but I'm thinking he's strictly a RT with his limited athleticism so I'm not sure he's a fit.

At CB they might have the steal of the draft with Jaire Alexander.

Alexander seems like a good fit

Jaire is a very very good shout. Hes exactly the kind of corner they go for.

Jaire is very good and was almost my pick for the Colts, but the Pats are fine with Gilmore and McCourty at CB.

My vote for the Patriots would strongly go toward drafting Kolton Miller to replace Solder.

The Patriots have Chung and McCourty at S among others. I don't sense the position being a need for them at all.

At WR I'd say DJ Chark is easily the top guy here followed by Washington and Pettis.

Sam Hubbard would be an interesting pick.

I'm still thinking Alexander.

Oh yeah...

I totally forgot about Kolton.

I'd have to consider him too for the Patriots. They're desperate at LT.

I'll even change my vote to Kolton edging out Alexander and Chark.

An odd pick for GB imo. Clark is becoming one of the best NT in the game and a 1st round pick just a couple years ago and the also have Mike Daniels who is a beast and just signed Wilkerson. Didn't we lose Poe to the Falcons last year?

I think the Settle hype ended with his combine too. Probably a a mid round guy now.

Chargers take one of the best safeties in the draft in Justin Reid. Highly athletic and intelligent player. Can QB a defense from deep as well as coming down into the box to make plays. Can cover as a nickel too.

A secondary of Hayward, Verrett, King , Reid etc etc with Bosa and Ingram in front of them would put the fear of God in to any OC.

HA!!!

That's what I get for picking quickly after a few beers at rehearsal.

I was planning to land Settle for my other team (falcons) not the packers. GM fail.
Meant to go EDGE or S with that pick if the right value was there.

I'd be into changing it to Ronnie Harrison - Safety - if you guys feel that's OK.

Any chance you can make it Lorenzo Carter? At first I was thinking Arden Key, but the Packers are a 3-4 and would want the edge OLB.

I was really hoping for Reid or Harrison for the Cowboys, and Reid just went.

I like Key better even though he has some red flags. It's just too early for Carter IMO.  Key's upside as a pass rusher moves him above Carter for me.

I'm good w/ Key to pack and Harrison to cowboys if the commish is cool with it.

I'm liking Key now. I thought he was a 4-3 DE, but looking at his nfl.com profile I see they do project him as a 3-4 OLB.

Hmm..

So, the Ravens are on the clock, and Mark Andrews is still available.

The Jaguars are up. I'm wondering about taking Austin Corbett here to be our starting RG. He's over 300 lbs and athletic as heck.

Good God I hope the draft dont fall like this. To me Michael Gallup is the best player on the board but we took Ridley. This is why there is no way I would take a WR in the first. Gallup is just as good a prospect as Ridley imo and he probably falls to the 2nd

Can anyone post a list of best players still available? I would do it but I'm lazy.

I think theres a lot of hive mind with this draft. People on here are more likely to take guys we've been discussing so I doubt the draft falls similarly to what we predict
