A rookie (Bryan) who has played 72 defensive line snaps in four weeks really can't be a disappointment unless he's killing drives with penalties.
He's not. But he is moving his guy off his spot and occasionally cluttering the pocket. He nearly got Darnold the other day but another Jag defender beat him by one step. Bryan will be fine. Whining about him right now is one of the dumber narratives I've seen here in some time. For perspective, Campbell has 221 snaps thus far. They should just let him sit until after the bye week to let that thing heal as best it can for the late season push. Hamstrings are prone to linger, and the best option to rehab them is rest. Let him get as much as possible so that he's around for the end of the season and any post season action. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Yes he had a 1,000 yards last year but on a 3.9 yards per carry average. He was great early last year until the Injuries took a toll. This year he is averaging an even worse 3.6 ypc. I hope he gets over the injury bug but since it's been happening since college it's not promising. You have to take into consideration who is complaining, and weigh it against their entire body of posting work here. In this instance, the complaints should be taken with a grain of salt. TB is a backup. He is playing behind great players, and he's getting enough exposure to learn the speed and complexity of the game. A year from now, when the potential exists that at least one of the guys he's backing up is no longer on the roster, his limited exposure this year will hopefully pay big dividends. He's pretty raw, but you can see the athletic ability there. I think he'll be fine in the long run. This expectation that he's an instant impact player is just typical nonsense from the we demand instant gratification generation. Patience is a lost art for them. Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

In the limited action he's seen, he's pushed the pocket back into the QB. I do realize this but he doesn't have a stat on the sheet. I'm not saying he is a bust because he is way too early but I honestly forgot about him. He hasn't done anything yet and those are the facts. ![]() We show less advertisements to registered users. Draft mistakes happen all the time. Also, we traded #16 to get #10 and the 16th pick was Ryan Kerrigan, DE Redskins. Ouch. Kerrigan has been a fine DE in the NFL for all these years. I didn't understand the Bryan pick at the time but now that the cap situation is clearer, it looks like a pretty good pick.

You seem so confused about how his works, I’m sure nothing can be said to illustrate to you just how stupid your snap judgement of the rookie is. Enjoy the blissful ignorance.
People are actually crying about a rookie, after his 4th game, playing behind a stacked DL?

I mean at best, Bryan is probably what, the 7th guy on the DL depth chart? Campbell Yannick Jackson Dareus Fowler Jones Bryan? Obviously I'm looking at it as the unit as a whole and not going by the positions of the DL. I've seen him muscle guys around a number of times and cause some pressures. Just because he isn't putting down hard numbers on paper, doesn't mean he isn't contributing. There's a lot more that goes into playing on the DL, than just sacks and tackles.
I stopped in here just to check on this topic and am I seeing clearly....there is someone complaining about Taven Bryan? A rookie defensive lineman after 4 games? Seriously?
Do people just not know how football works? And how things have to take time and you can't expect immediate results from a head coach, player, etc.? People in this world sometimes have no patience for things. I'm literally dumbfounded. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!
Tayven Bryan has 0 interceptions, 0 forced fumbles, 0 passing yards, 0 kick off returns, 0 field goals.
A big fat 0 on the stat sheet, bust. (10-06-2018, 05:52 PM)Brett Wrote: I stopped in here just to check on this topic and am I seeing clearly....there is someone complaining about Taven Bryan? You should expect instant results from a premium pick rookie RB, but yeah that's about the only rookie position you should expect to contribute right out of the gate. If anything else does it's pretty much gravy.
