Fournette = Trent Richardson?

It was said at the time it was insanely deep and probably goes down as the best running back class in NFL history when you consider the level of talent. There's definitely 5 I'd take but multiple more like Carson who I could argue for either. I mean, Tarik Cohen may not be a traditional rb but i'd value what he does over what LF7 does in today's NFL We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today! For sure, Jordan Howard is very comparable to LF...and Cohen is running circles around him in a modern NFL offense.

Even when Mitchell TRIED to blast him, he lowered the shoulder, went over and picked up a few more yards and then bounced back up while Mitchell paraded like a 4 year old even though they were down like 2 possessions. While that was a pretty [BLEEP] thing to do, I'd rather my runningback actually try to make the man miss then wanting the contact

Really what all of this is saying is anytime you're drafting players and you even think about "need" then you're doing it all wrong and headed for problems. If the argument is “Fournette can’t do it by himself, he needs good run blocking to be effective” then you shouldn’t have drafted him 4th overall. Yes, the offensive line needs to improve, that’s a given. But I don’t think anyone can say Fournette has been worth a top 5 pick. He’s been very bad all things considered. Compare him with Barkley (also has a bad line), Elliott, and Gurley. Fournette isn’t even close to those running backs.

Its hilarious everyone thinks Saquon isnt getting garbage time fluff stats. Our games vs them is a perfect example. He was held to something around 1.8 ypc up until 1 big long run and then everyone creams their pants over his final line. Not with Fournette though, his 90 yd TD against the Steelers doesn't REALLY count

Nope, we did hold Barkley in check in his very first pro game pretty well. I joined everyone else in shrugging off the people who said Barkley dominated that game. But then I watched him some more, and he really has dominated almost the entire season. It's also a huge misnomer to say Barkley's run was garbage time. The Giants had the ball in the 4th quarter down 5 points... (12-17-2018, 12:48 PM)Upper Wrote:(12-17-2018, 12:45 PM)JNev Wrote: Spoken like someone who think YPC is the end all be all stat. Ok then, I never said YPC is the end all be all...but good for putting those worse in my mouth. Rate stats are far superior than overall stats though, that's just the absolute most basic form of stats 101. Dude was a top 5 pick and he's not on the same planet as Barkley or Elliott who were both selected in the top 5. He's averaging 3.4 yards a carry this season.... Yeldon is at least averaging 4.
