Dwayne Haskins (MERGED)

Absolutely.  That's more like life in the NFL.  You have to read the defenses quickly to get the ball out or if you have to move in the pocket, sense defenders, and make plays.

Not a great first drive for Haskins.  Missed a wide open guy on that 3rd down and instead took a sack.  Could just be nerves.

I actually think this game could be more important for Browning.  He had a great sophmore year and it looked like he would be a bigtime prospect.  But then his junior year was slightly worse.  His comp% went way up near 70% but his TDs came way down as did his yards/attempt.  As if he took less chances on the year.  And then a disappointing senior year.  The guy obviously has talent but hasnt been able to duplicate his soph campaign.

He had John Ross and Dante Pettis that year. That may be a big part of the reasons why his numbers were so good. Then they fell off when Ross left, and again when Pettis left.

I'm not saying it as a negative just pointing it out. I mean Blake could be standing in a field by himself and never complete passes like the two I just saw on that last TD drive. His accuracy is deadly.

He also had shoulder surgery during the offseason after his soph year I believe.

That’s most likely what it will take.

Yup. Our history with firsts are usually busts. No worry trading a future one.

I also love how some people are saying “but he’s only started this season” and in the same breath are saying we should break the bank for Tua next season.

They’ve probably started the same amount of games....

I don't understand the hype for Tua. He's small, doesn't have Drew Brees smarts, and is playing for a completely dominant program and team. He's destined for a career as an NFL backup.

Tua = Tebow.

A great college QB with a subpar arm

If we draft Haskins, we have 2 years to know if he's worth it until Lawrence comes out....win win. Although I don't think Haskins busts

We'd never end up with Lawrence.  Titans will probably have a fluky bad season with a ton of injuries.  And we'll beat them in a meaningless game in week 17 to guarantee them the #1 draft pick while we finish 5-11.

Looks like Todd Wash is calling the plays for Washington. Sitting in zone without blitzing, while Haskins keeps making the right read/throw.

I guess a negative for Haskins is boy is he slow lol.

As good a first half as Haskins could have wanted! Pretty much guaranteeing himself the first QB off the board I would think. Cant imagine anyone would want Lock or Grier over Haskins.

I am a little disappointed by Washington's defense. I mentioned this in another thread about Haskins... maybe even this one... where sometime in late Oct / early Nov, PFF produced a story or mock draft where a quick blurb about Haskins they mentioned how much worse he was under pressure and how few times he had actually been under pressure throughout the year. Now admittedly it had no context to let us know how he is under pressure compared to others. But with Washington's reputation of having a good defense, I was hoping to see Haskins finally under a lot of pressure tonight having to make throws on the run, with people in his face, and throwing into tight windows. Basically what he will have to do as a Jaguar QB. But he looks like he is facing a Jags defense tonight. He has all day to throw and his WRs are running wide open. But give him credit for always making the right read and continuing to put up a big time comp%. Only had a few bad throws in the game.

Jags may need to get to #2 to get him. His stock is only going to rise after this and he’s already a top 10 lock.

I think Arizona stays at #1 to take Bosa but after that, who knows. Trade our 1st, next years first and a 3rd for #2.

I'd love that deal, if the Niners wanna trade down. They might wanna sit at #2 and take one of those D-Linemen, especially if Quinnen Williams declares. I do think the Jets wanna move down at #3. They need an OLB and Josh Allen is projected to go later in the top 10. If we can get to #2 though, that is the way to go. Haskins is worth whatever it takes. If something happens and we can't get him, I'm o.k. with trading down and getting Drew Lock or Will Grier though, as long as it isn't Jones or Finley.

Yup, you saw that recent long pass to setup a 2yard td run. The guy is looking like a genius against this soft D.

Why do you think the Niners stay for a Dlineman? They’ve drafted Buckner, Armstead and Thomas the last few years.

Washington's defense is 12th ranked in the nation, but a certain rocket scientist in this thread is calling the defense 'soft' because said scientist has been proven wrong over and over and over

Yep. That's the ticket, bro. Swap 1s, give 2019 3rd and 2020 1st.

Worth it for a 15 year franchise QB
