I'm thinking that having Lock and playing Luck 2x per year is going to confuse a good portion of our fanbase. Otherwise, drafting Lock was the best choice. I still go back to Byron vs Brian Leftwich and and David Garrard vs Jarrard. We can't risk another selection that brings confusion and now that I think about it, spelling Grier may be asking too much. We may need to draft Dan Jones (01-23-2019, 09:19 AM)Nikowho Wrote: Wellllll I'm probably being petty but I disliked that he didn't play in the bowl game; they might have lost anyway, but he would've made a big difference. So petty you wanted him to play with torn ankle ligaments? Although I'm not sure why this news is just now coming out.... but whatever... him not playing in the bowl mattered little to me. Can he play? (accuracy, release, a type personality, check check check) Can we get him? (reach at 7? will he fall to round 2?) That's all that matters. Guess you wouldn't draft Bosa and CMac too.
At the time, I had no idea he WAS injured. I just thought he was wanting to focus on the Senior Bowl and the draft.
But I would've taken Bosa, no question. Not that that's related to this thread anyway. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

Grier looked good in that practice today. Hit Sills in stride down the sideline at one point with a perfect throw that didn’t float and showed NFL velocity.
I don’t think that second round grade will last long after this week’s festivities are concluded.

Not sure how. Accurate this website is or if the measurement is initial or delivery but Grier is above average according to them.

I could’ve told you that. Assuming his character checks out he’ll be a lock in the 1st.

Hit Sills in stride down the sideline at one point with a perfect throw that didn’t float and showed NFL velocity. Nothing official. Just the chatter from various twitter analysts. Lots of people calling him a second rounder. I don’t see him getting out of the first and I’d actually consider him at #7.

The kid wants to be a pro. I'm not even a fan of his, I got Haskins over him, but he legit lives a very pro life and he did so as a heismann candidate. Mature kid. His family is full of online kids who reek attention, Will Grier is the opposite. I wouldn't mind him at all. Not at #7, but second round or late first sure.

Guys with average arms are trying like hell to throw as hard as possible for the scouts while the guys with cannons are trying to show developing finesse. I thought the Watson debacle would be enough to change minds. Like, at one point Allbright said Watson was undraftable due to his velocity score.

After that throw, Grier is a definite first rounder just in case there was any doubt.
For the record, I just moved him up to my #2 spot after Haskins, and I'm ready to say let someone else trade up for Haskins and his lack of consistent deep game, and go ahead and draft Grier at #7. Really the only question with Grier was his arm strength, and he just proved that ain't no thang.
