Sure thing!

St Louis under Jeff Fisher was where QB's went to die.  Don't take my word for it...look at real world scenarios - Case Keenum leaves there and takes the Vikings to the NFCCG.   Foles leaves and wins the Super Bowl as Super Bowl MVP with the Eagles. Fisher leaves and Goff all of a sudden looks good and takes the Rams to the Super Bowl.  Coincidence?  I don't think so.

Foles will do well wherever he lands.  The guy can put up 30+ points a game with ease if he has at least some decent weapons around him.  He also likes to spread the ball around A LOT.  He will hit 7-8 different receivers on a regular basis.  He's also not scared to audible out of pass plays into run plays if he thinks a run will get good yards during his pre-snap reads.  I can't say this enough, he's a selfless player who puts his team first.  A true rarity in today's NFL.   I think he and John DeFilippo really like each other and work well together, so that seems like a very good fit in the making.

Makes sense.  I could see Foles, with good protection from a line of Cam Rob/Norwell/Linder/Insert RG Here/Richardson(?) spreading good balls to Lee, Chark, Cole, Fournette, ASJ(I still think he will be back), and possibly Jesse James as a dual threat TE tandem.  tReading about him last offseason, he was fully ready to hang it up and dive into divinity school and be a pastor and is currently working on his seminary degree now (shout out to my alma mater Liberty!).  Can't say enough about having a mature, level headed QB in the pocket.  I personally like the guy.  I hope he does well wherever he goes.

Foles left Kansas City to play in Philadelphia.  He was about to retire before the Eagles re-signed him.

Yep.  I should have said "eventually won the Super Bowl with the Eagles".  He was contemplating retiring after the Jeff Fisher fiasco in St Louis, before KC.  Andy Reid offered to bring him in as a backup in KC and he did well there.  He should have never been traded to the Rams to begin with.  It was one of many idiotic moves by Chip Kelly during his tenure with the Eagles.

If JackCity felt a player is worth a 3rd round pick and that team wanted a 1st, he would do it because a 1st is only a couple rounds higher.

If I had a chance to land a top 10 QB in his prime I'd happily give a first.

Remember the first post of this thread you say you'd give a 2nd + Fournette for him, and we already know you would be happy to give him 100 million over 4 years.

So what's the difference between trading a 2nd + Fournette for Foles and paying him 25 million year 1 Vs trading a late 3rd for Foles and paying him 24 million year 1....

Appreciate the insight.

As to the bold text, the trade from Philadelphia was after he threw for 27 TDs and 2 INTs for the same Chip Kelly.

What in the blue hell was he thinking?!?

Worst to 1st.  Curse Reversed!

I did say that but that was a knee jerk reaction to just wanting a QB. We have had months to think about this at this point as we get closer to the draft

Still can’t believe the Jags passed on Goedert.

Man that sucks.

The Eagles picked up Foles' 20 million option, then Foles voided it. Next step would be the franchise tag, if the Eagles want to go that route....they have about 2 weeks to do it.

Denver, Washington and NY are licking their chops as we speak. Best case for the Jags is NY shows interest in Foles, signs him and they pass on Haskins. NY pick top OT with 6th pick.

Or Hernandez, the 2 guys 90% of the fan base wanted and 2 of the BPA.  It's been 1 year though and with Jackson out the door Bryan might be able to prove he was the right pick
