Kyler Murray

That was really really bad, honestly this kid is going to get destroyed by the press in the nfl. I don't think an interview has ever changed my opinion of somebody this much.

I was listening to NFL radio on the NFL blitz and they interviewed him as well. He at least answered the questions but wouldnt stop talking about baseball even when they weren't asking him about baseball. I don't think he takes the NFL seriously.

Either way, in one weekend I think he destroyed any draft stock he had.

If I were a GM, I would automatically remove him from my board after seeing that interview. He's only gonna play football if he's a first round selection and on top of that, it's obvious that his heart isn't in it. Knowing this, along with the size questions makes me believe he is not going to be playing in the NFL. No team is gonna draft a small QB in the first round, who has baseball options and pretty much admits baseball is his first choice. If they did, they need their head examined.

Wow, that was a really bad interview.  Nothing character-wise, but the refusal to answer what his intentions were about whether he was going to play baseball or football.

It would make me very hesitant to draft him.

I don're remember ever flipping an opinion so hard on a guy like this.  I went from "interested" to "no way" in seconds.

Shrug, Murray is still who I want if we can't find a way to get Haskins.

Would you really spend a first round pick on a guy who seems to be 50-50 on whether he's even going to play football?

Well spring training and the combine coincide so we'll know which he is going to choose with plenty of time before the draft. If he chooses football then yes he would be my 2nd choice after Haskins.

I really don't know why people are making such a big deal out of it. Patrick was being stupid and asking him the same question over and over. It was clear Murray didn't want to answer it, yet Patrick kept trying to bait him.

Also, who gives a [BLEEP] how he does with a mic in his face. He isn't going to be paid by his ability to give an interview. The only thing that matters is what he does on the field.

I also don't think he's going to play football. I think he's all in on Baseball and he even said "that'd imply I was going to play football though" in that interview when asked about Pro Days. Pretty telling reply imo.

In baseball you can be 140lbs - 400lbs and still play.

It's the perfect place for him.

I personally think he is using football to leverage more money out of his baseball contract.

If interviews don't matter, why are they a big deal at the combine. It's wonderful to think that a player's ability is all they are judged on. But it is not true. He looked like a dumb [BLEEP]. Why do the interview knowing these topics will be brought up. Weak move on his part. The only person it will effect is him.

I don't think he meant the private team interviews. He meant media interviews...and he's right from that aspect IMO.

I know he did but they are still going to ask some uncomfortable questions. Especially now that he has shown he bottles up like a [BLEEP] when he is in a tough spot. That is if he even goes to the combine.

Like you I was,and still do, rate this kid highly. This was just one of the worst interviews I've seen from someone with with so much potential.

People say it doesn't matter. But look at Winston. He is a very good qb but criticized heavily because of how weak his character is as far as charisma. I'm not saying he sounds like a complete idiot like Winston, but this was not a solid look for him.

He doesn't have to tell some talk show host anything about his future/decision if he doesn't want to. The only people he needs to answer those kind of questions to is possible future employers.

Will they probably ask some dumb questions like Patrick did at the combine? Sure, but I bet a lot of those questions wont be the same one over and over and most will probably be about football (breaking down plays etc etc/his decision). But that all depends on if he even goes to the Combine, or if he is even serious about playing Football. I don't think he is.

How do you know he even wanted to do that interview? I have no doubt he had people behind him, in his ear pushing him to do the interview.

All I know is whoever prepped him for that interview should be fired.

If the guy is not willing to say he's committed to football, I would take him off my board completely.

And even if he did say he's committed to football, I would hesitate to draft him, because he has other options that he can exercise at any time. He could get to year 3 of his rookie contract and decide he wants to go play baseball.

I can't get a read on where this kid's head is at. Even if he was 6'4", I still view him as too big of a risk. I don't believe he is totally committed to football. Maybe I'm wrong, but I wouldn't want to take the risk of drafting him and him walking away to play MLB, leaving my team without a QB and wasting a first round pick. When he is asked about playing in the NFL, I don't see the same kind of passion that he shows when talking about baseball.
