Accurate this website is or if the measurement is initial or delivery but Grier is above average according to them. when they went to the left/right split, the numbers seemed to drop from prior years. wonder if the methodology is different. also this has Blake Bortles, Cam Newton, and Andy Dalton all with the same velocity. That doesnt feel meaningful to me. Was listening to the college sports channel on sirius this morning. Greg McElroy and Taylor Zarzur(??). Anyways McElroy said that he heard Grier's stock was tanking this week. Didnt mention anything on the field but said he has been skipping interviews and not returning texts and messages from various teams. I havent followed Senior Bowl week as closely this year but was surprised because it was the first I had heard of it. And all the indications I've seen about him is that he is mature and a real pro while the real concern with him is physical ability and talent. So this came as a bit of a surprise. Almost to the point where I wondered if McElroy had the wrong name and should have been talking about someone else. ________________________________________________ Scouting well is all that matters. "Watch the tape" is referring to you dismissing my take because you assume it just comes from twitter. When in reality it's from actually watching Grier, as evidenced above.
I was listening to the NFL channel of Sirius radio, and they were talking about Grier looking really bad in practice because he was flat out missing several throws. How much of a concern is this? Keeping in mind the QBs haven't had all that much of a chance to develop any kind of timing, is a sloppy practice really a red flag? I recall them saying how Deshaun Watson was wildly erratic throwing passes at his combine in drills. The report totally turned me off from thinking he'd be any good, but look at him now. The exactly opposite was true of Gabbert who nailed his combine throws, but we know the rest of his story.

Welp, all those QBs at the senior bowl aren't franchise QBs. It's Haskins or bust.

His deep throws left a little to be desired, but otherwise, he did a great job feeling pressure and escaping to buy time by scrambling outside to throw. These are things Lock can't even think about doing yet. Regarding his deep throws, I do have some concern. Now he indeed has a strong enough arm, but on his two deep outs, you saw the ball easily sail over the WR's head. This is an issue I keep seeing on tape with Grier. That is, his deep ball gets out there but doesn't exactly drop in there with touch to make the catch easy. Rather, they tend to come in more quickly with a shallower angle flying over the head of QBs. We might all recall this same exact description watching Gabbert's deep throws. He'd constantly over-shoot receivers on his deep outs the same way. Blake's deep passes, for example, drop in there nicely with touch even tho they wobble so much.

It's amazing how much his stock has fallen. I suspect it will correct itself and he'll end up being a 2nd rounder. I would be delighted if we signed Foles and somehow drafted Grier in the 3rd.

Remember draft stock is largely a media creation as they learn more about how the NFL values certain players

Its really stupid to even talk about drafting a QB when the next Manning/Brady/Aikman is a FA |
