John McClain with the Houston Chronicle believes the Texans will select...

If Tebow and Manuel are first round picks then Manziel is a lock.
McDaniels made the Tebow pick hahahahaha

Manuel was picked first in a year that Geno Smith, Ryan Nassib, Mike Glennon were top qb prospects lol

Manuel would be the 4th or 5th qb off the board this year

Quote:if the texans draft Bortles #1 overall I feel like the GM will get fired the next year.... that's a HUGE reach

They better fire O'Brien as well because I'm sure he'll have some say, if not the final word, in the QB he wants.

Point being it only takes one team to fall in love. The Browns are the heavy favorite with 2 first round picks this year and Lombardi as a GM.

Truth, however would Lombardi be that stupid to drive up the cost of moving up by announcing their infatuation with Manziel??? Even going so far to say they would actually trade up for him

All this before combines or pro days????

Who is this O'Leary guy? I had never heard of anybody with that last name. And why don't you include his first name in the post?

John McClain looks like an idiot.  None of his reasons make any sense. The only reason to pick Blake Bortles is he is the best quarterback in the draft.

O'Leary is the head coach of UCF.

Is it real to suggest Brian Cushing is about done in the NFL?

Or an FSU sprint tight end.

Nope. He already came back from a torn ACL, so it is safe to assume he can come back from a torn MCL.

Looks like Manziel, Bridgewater or Clowney makes the most sense for the Texans.

Cushing is not likely to be the same, and you have to question his frame being able to support his playing weight.

How does Clowney make more sense than Bridgewater? Most people say the Texans are a quarterback away from the playoffs.

Quote:Manziel will drop to the 2-3 round, not worried about him

You're the only one who says this (and keep repeating over and over).....except before you said 3rd-4th round.....I guess he's moving up on your big board......lol

Quote:Don't feel bad.  The John McClain I thought he was talking about was Bruce Willis's John McClane.

What a coincidence.......on TMZ Bruce Willis is picking Bortles at #1

I do not get why the team with the #1 pick would be really throwing out smokescreens about Bortles. I mean I could get it if they were throwing out smokescreens for Clowney. If another team really wants Clowney then they could offer Houston a good trade...but at this rate I haven't heard other teams really wanting Bortles. Houston saying they want Bortles just means that other teams who want Clowney will look to the rams. If the Texans really are trying to throw people off and they really intend to pick Clowney but they are saying Bortles...then they are shooting themselves in the foot and not giving any real chance at a trade. I understand picks below #1 throwing smokescreens trying to throw other teams off...but the #1 pick gets whoever they want...why lie about it?

I dunno..just doesnt make sense to me is all.

Bob McNair did throw out a smokescreen about Clowney. He said J.J. Watt can fix his work ethic (yeah, right). Why would he say that?

He also contradicted himself on Manziel. What was the purpose of that?

Nothing he says makes sense. I don't believe a single word he says about anybody.

If im the Pats right now I try to get more from the Texans than a 2nd if they truly want Mallet. At least try. Anything to hopefully set the Texans back

Because most teams that need a qb probably have Bortles number 1 on their bigboard

If I'm the Pats right now, I take a 2nd for Mallett and laugh my way to the bank.

...though if i was really in charge of the pats, I'd fire Bill Belichick, cut Tom Brady, and tell Robert Kraft it's best to start a new era now >_>

I was wrong about Trent Baalke.
