Just being better than Bortles, Gabbert, Henne, Kessler, etc. is not enough these days; especially with an above-average, not-elite defense.
I'll give Minshew some credit, he's got the right attitude to be a great QB, when the game gets tight he gets better. It'll be interesting to see where he goes.

That's fair. Honestly my only complaint today was the fumbles but he'll clean those up. Outside of that, he's been making good decisions and accurate throws. Tacks are the toughest Defense, but they're also the worst offense we'll face so far so it should be a good game. its real simple 2 things about minshew. if he can sweep the tittians hes the real deal espaissley with the bad o-line jags have. better protection from o-line,and he wouldn't of fumbled.
put a offenssive line like tom brady has in front of minshew hes a pro-bowl qb,and super bowl winner. snowwolf titans owner in madden. note titans owner means im undeafted againest them.

You really don't know what you're talking about most of the time, do you? I don't get it. He was improving in leaps and bounds every game. While he did look like a true rookie, it was also obvious that he was adjusting quickly.

I do know what im talking about,im the only jag fan that said jags have no offesivve line. i said it in the offseason, and no one here belieaved me. I didn't say minshew would beat the tittians, just he has talent to be a pro-bowl qb,and super bowl winner if he had a offenssive line that can protect him. snowwolf titans owner in madden. note titans owner means im undeafted againest them. So the three game stretch in 2017 when Blake Bortles had 120 quarterback rating and went toe-to-toe with Russell Wilson was it as good as these first two games of the Season by Gardner? I get the popular thing on this site is to have the Blake Bortles bashing and hate but just sit there and lie like this is wack and immaturity from you. Blake Bortles is gone please let him go and Let Him Live the rest of his career in NFL in peace. ![]() (09-15-2019, 11:17 PM)leopold332002 Wrote:(09-15-2019, 04:50 PM)imtheblkranger Wrote: I was a huge Bortles supporter, but Minshew looks better in 2 games than Blake ever did. But you're comparing a 3 game stretch of his (Bortles, a top 5 pick), who had been in the league for 4 years at that time of that Seahawks game in 2017... Vs a Rookie (6th round pick) QB who has played 2 total games in the NFL and officially started 1 game in the NFL... I agree in letting the Bortles stuff die/rest, but do you not see the huge difference here?...

Blake Bortles is gone please let him go and Let Him Live the rest of his career in NFL in peace. This is essentially what I was getting at. I loved the Boat. Anyone here can vouch that I was rarely, if ever, anything but supportive of Blake. But there's an intangible difference here with Minshew. Even during Blake's 2017 stretch of great play, he never quite had the confidence that Minshew puts out. For instance today, when Watson scored I said "game over" because Blake was rarely one you felt confident to lead that comeback and I'm so used to it. Minshew goes on to score 9 unanswered points and a bad play call from a come from behind win. Against a good defense, in his first ever start, as a 6th round rookie.
It is crazy because even when he missed on a throw it was an offensive line break down and a rushed throw. I hope he keeps growing and improving because we haven't had a QB for so long.
Birth of the Franchise - November 30, 1993
Death of the Franchise - November 29, 2011 Fans deserve better. Thanks for all the good times too many are in the past.

Someone (I don't remember who, bit it was someone with some credibility) analyzed all 25 of his throws from the first game, and they said all 25 were on the money and should have been completed. Woulda, coulda, shoulda: we finally are forced to be aggressive when we're down 10 points, and lo and behold, Minshew is up to the task. It makes you wonder, what if we had been more aggressive during the 2nd and 3rd quarters? We seem to be hell-bent on being a running team, and we can't run worth a damn. |
