That's how the top rush O was accomplished in 2017; with Yeldon and Grant chipping in, even when a better-playing Fournette missed several games.
"Fans" or other people like to evaluate what a player does or doesn't do looking at television footage. Put yourself down on the field and go at real-time speed and see what you see from his vantage point. Opinions might be different then. Yes the hole was "there", but that's not necessarily what the player sees on the field.

If they miss it they get slammed with negative comments. Yes the hole was "there", but that's not necessarily what the player sees on the field. I would wager probably not. We can see it on "game tape", especially if slowed down after the fact. When it happens in real-time speed ON THE FIELD it doesn't happen that way. When you have much taller and bigger guys in front of you, it's impossible to see beyond that. If the play is designed to go to a certain hole, that's where it's going. The "madden playing" armchair coaches will say differently, but think about reality. Fournette has been great at making nothing out of something which is a reason I don’t think he’s going to be with this team in 2020. He’s just a very below average player.

It's like people are just realizing he sucks. Lol. You can take away the injury concerns and the bad attitude and thuggishness at times and he's just a God awful RB. Yeldon and Grant are better than him and unfortunately he's the one that's still on the roster.

Fournette hasn't had any field vision/field sense since day 1 and he isn't going to magically get it now.
Plenty of 3 yards and a cloud of dust. I guess the coaches are looking to get fired if keep feeding the ball to a sightless rb.

I frequently posted that quote from a scout predraft about how Fournette needed to play with a fullback at LSU not because he needed the extra blocking, but because he needed someone to show him where the hole was.
Nothing has changed.
He ran right into the wall
Maybe he forgot he had the rock, and thought he was supposed to be blocking |
