Leftists’ D.C. ‘Impeach Donald Trump’ Protests a Bust

"Although I understand that I served at the pleasure of the President, I was nevertheless incredulous that the U.S. government chose to remove an ambassador based, as best as I can tell, on unfounded and false claims by people with clearly questionable motives,” she said in a scathing account of the way she was removed from her post.

jj82284, I don't know. A better question would be will the Supreme Court weigh in on the release of the tax returns?
Either way, certainly this will be stalled for quite some time.

The alleged corrupt act involves holding up aid to Ukraine based upon receipt of dirt on a political opponent.
My understanding of the situation is that reasonable suspicion is not an acceptable defense.
Digging up dirt on Biden, whether or not there was a reasonable suspicion, is not an impeachable offense, in and of itself.
Well it might be, as we are talking about a foreign entity.
However, the main question of impropriety, it would seem, comes from withholding aid to Ukraine, (which has been ongoing since 2014), in exchange for such information.

Whether Biden is himself corrupt is irrelevant to whether what the President did is an impeachable offense.

On a lighter note, flsprtsgod, of the 102 women in the U.S. House, I am fairly certain none of them have any cajones whatsoever.

jj82282, I could be wrong, but I think that Facebook is the biggest waste of time in U.S. history.

Please, for diety's sake, impeach him. Do it now, man up and take the vote to the Floor! Like the Ramsey situation there's a whole lot of talk and absolutely no action. Time to move on.

I'll signature-bet you that there will be a vote before the NH primary.

If Trump is smart (which I am not sure of) he'll say let's get it over with.  Because right now, things are not moving in his direction.

To get a conviction in the Senate, if all the Democrats vote to convict, I think 20 Republican Senators would have to join them.  As more facts come out, public opinion polls are slowly turning against Trump.  But they would have to reach a point where 20 Republican Senators would be willing to flip, and I'm not sure we'll ever get there.

Marty, the "public opinion polls" are a key part of the overall hoax. Pelosi has admitted that impeachment is a political matter, not a criminal matter, and she knows she needs to sway public opinion to complete the process. Of course, the numbers for impeachment started climbing right on cue. It helps when you have fake media and fake polls on your side. By the time the articles of bogus impeachment are released, the polls will reveal a massive sea change. This will also provide political cover for the Never-Trumpers in the Republican Party, who have kept their shivs well-concealed while the tide was against them.

Okay, is Fox News now part of the "fake media?"  Because it was a Fox News poll that showed support for impeachment climbing.

Then why won't the democrats take a vote on it?  They want their cake and eat it too.  They have had a week of full saturation bombing buy the legacy media about an "impeachment inquiry", whistleblowers etc. meanwhile they are making a calculation for the election they know is coming in 2020 (Trump vs. whomever).  This also gives them the added bonus of hiding everything in the intelligence committee behind closed doors to give them full control of the narrative.  The learned a lot from the Mueller hearings.  Actually allowing the American people to see the witness shrink under opposition questioning is pretty inconvenient.  So Now you have Adam Schiff able to selectively leak whatever parts of testimony he feels are relevant and bury the rest of it.

As for facts coming out, which facts are you coming at.  I think that the republicans are making a mistake by not repeating the term "oligarch" and "billion dollars" every time that they get to the microphone, but it's only been seven days since the whole thing started and they will eventually get around to a more offensive narrative.

The President said it last night and I agree.  He completely deflated the sails of any legitimate impeachment threat when he released the actual text of the call.  As time progresses more and more people are going to realize that the media spends more time telling them about interpretations and theories than what the president actually said.  Moreover, the entirety of the countries involvement in Ukraine under Obama and Bidens actual legacy of enriching his family members is going to overtake the entire narrative.

As for the polling, in the fox news poll that you talk about, the internal breakdown was about 48% Democrat 40% republican.  That's the makeup of the people that you ask the question to.  IT's no surprise that you get a number around 50 which as ive said, mirrors the presidents daily tracking disapproval number.  To acutally remove a president you would need to see an utter collapse of support in their own party and Trump is still @ record highs in republican approval.

Another thing to consider is that over time impeachments become less popular.  Numbers were red hot for the republicans in 98 when the blue dress came out, the release of the star report etc.  But when push came to shove people valued their jobs more than the presidents sex life and I think that this time the American people will value their jobs more than Hunter Biden's.  You also had more liberal democrats who weren't huge fans of the Clintons rally to their defense.  Glenn Beck was a major leader in conservative defections, but he's leading the way on social media exposing the truth about the Ukrainian Obama Scandal, the role the DNC had, the relationship to crowd strike and the rest of it.  Unless they can show a truly seditious act on behalf of the president, which there is no evidence fore, I think that they are going to be facing a more galvanized republican wave than they did in 16.

Also, quietly, bidens unfavorable are a lot more congruent with Clinton's than the left wants to admit and the Social Media Tech giants they are relying on the build a firewall against the conservative narrative is already making plans to go to war with Elizabeth Warren.  In truth, this is much more an act of desperation than strength.

If they had anything they'd already have Articles on the Floor. All they have is obfuscation of the fact that Trump did nothing wrong and the radicals' blind hatred, and Pelosi is savvy enough to know it.

Did you study the poll criteria?  I did.  Did you find the bias?  It's very simple to get whatever result you wish.  Just oversample one side of the argument, or couch the question deceptively.

Fox has a NeverTrump streak that they started removing yesterday. Probably this "reporting" was the last straw to the bigwigs who are making a fortune off of Trump's work.

Can anyone imagine Hillary or Joe giving 90 minute speeches 2 nights in a row?

Has any president ever actually looked younger after his first term? I am beginning to think Trump drank from the fountain of youth.

I think there are two reasons they are taking their time:

1) New stuff comes out every day.  For example, Giuliani's associates getting arrested.
2) They won't get a conviction unless public opinion is on their side.  They need 67 votes in the Senate.

So, they take their time, they build their case, and hope somehow it will get through the Fox News firewall.

They certainly need more irrelevant stuff to come out to cloud their lack of an actual case.

He used to look quite orange.
Now he looks crimson red.

The swamp of youth is filled with pools of innocent blood.
