Leftists’ D.C. ‘Impeach Donald Trump’ Protests a Bust

(10-12-2019, 08:50 AM)StroudCrowd1 Wrote: Can anyone imagine Hillary or Joe giving 90 minute speeches 2 nights in a row?

Has any president ever actually looked younger after his first term? I am beginning to think Trump drank from the fountain of youth.

It's not that hard to stand up and rant about your enemies, and how you're being mistreated, for 90 minutes.   I know quite a few people who can do that.   The hard part is listening to it.

Why do I think there's a team of doctors, barbers, detoxification specialists and political wonks furiously working to get Hunter Biden in shape enough to stand beside Dad at a rally and utter a few wonk-approved phrases? Then Joe will challenge Trump and Don Jr. to a boxing match while Hunter sneaks away for a hit off the crack pipe.

Lol, it's not hard but neither Ol' Joe or the Shrilldabeast are going to be able to manage it without regaling the listeners with their "True Tales of Things That Never Happened." Come to think of it, neither will Liawatha Warren.

Liawatha is pretty funny, but I still think Pocahontas is funnier.

Just this morning on Meet the Press one guy said something that really shows how dysfunctional the Dems are about how to deal with Trump. He basically said that they've used every play in their book to attack Trump without effect while simultaneously not doing one thing to prevent the fallout from situations like Joe's Hunter Biden problem or Warren's blatant lies. Moderates who voted for Trump because they hate the Washington that Hillary represented aren't going to be swayed by the Dems who aren't capable of stopping their own Swamp Things, it only emboldens them to sent Trump back again.

Fauxcahontas?

Fauxcahontas is a bit too inside to be widely appreciated.  You have to already know that people call her Pocahontas and know the French word faux. Just calling her Pocahontas is the funniest you can make  that particular jab.
Don't worry. Trump will come up with new insulting names for her.

if you don't think there are lies in Trump's stump speeches, you haven't been paying much attention to them.

Of course there are, they are political speeches. But Trump won't ever say "When I was under sniper fire..." or "And I says, I said, I said, 'We can lose a vice president..." or "I was fired for being pregnant", because he's busy on the attack.

All of those examples are silly examples that have nothing to do with policy.
Trump has put himself in front of cameras so often and for so long that he has told many lies. Most of them are silly lies like the ones you point out, but a few of them has been about serious policy matters.

What he's done in Syria ought to be enough to get him impeached by itself.

1.) We dont impreach presidents based on policy dofferences

2.) He swore an oath to defend the US from all enemies foreign and domestic, not use the military to carve out a kurdistan.

3.) I hope the deal between the sdf & the syrian regime produces something close to a stalemate/stabilit

4.) Antone wishing to run for office on the platform of sending half a million troops and 5 trillion dollars to invade syria probably still has time to sign up 4 the next election.

It would be pretty hypocritical for Congress to condemn Trump for failing to fight a war that they themselves neither declared nor authorized.

It's not "failing to fight a war."  It's deserting an ally and allowing their enemies to slaughter them.  It's gross incompetence and immorality.

If Trump wanted to get out of Syria, there are much better ways to do it.  The worst way is to order our troops to get out immediately, without telling anyone in advance, not even in his own administration.  One phone call with Erdogan, and Trump orders "Everyone get out of the way so Turkey can invade and kill our allies."  The same allies who fought ISIS alongside us for the last few years, the same allies who are holding thousands of ISIS prisoners.  For what reason did he do it?  What did he get in return?  I can't figure out why he would do it.  If a mass murder occurs, it will be because of his actions.  If ISIS prisoners escape because the Kurds have to go to the front to defend themselves, it will be because of him.  It's the stupidest most immoral thing I've seen in 50 years at least.

UPDATE: ISIS prisoners have indeed begun escaping, as predicted.  And now Trump is claiming the Kurds are releasing them on purpose, which is a lie.

And now he's announcing sanctions against Turkey, which is crazy because he gave them permission to do what he is now sanctioning them for doing!

I want Trump impeached and removed.
I think how he handled Turkey is extremely dishonorable.
But
Leave aside the fact that Congress never authorized us to do anything in Syria, except maybe hunt down Al Qaeda. Even if Congress had authorized a peacekeeping mission to protect Kurdish autonomy within Syria, having legislators impeach commanders for battlefield decisions would set a terrible precedent. Study what went on in France in 1792 and 1793 to see how that works out. It doesn't end well for either group.

Now this:

Even John Bolton knew what Trump and Giuliani were doing was wrong.

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/14/us/po...e=Homepage

"The effort to pressure Ukraine for political help provoked a heated confrontation inside the White House last summer that so alarmed John R. Bolton, then the national security adviser, that he told an aide to alert White House lawyers, House investigators were told on Monday.

"Mr. Bolton got into a tense exchange on July 10 with Gordon D. Sondland, the Trump donor turned ambassador to the European Union, who was working with Rudolph W. Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, to press Ukraine to investigate Democrats, according to three people who heard the testimony.

"The aide, Fiona Hill, testified that Mr. Bolton told her to notify the chief lawyer for the National Security Council about a rogue effort by Mr. Sondland, Mr. Giuliani and Mick Mulvaney, the acting White House chief of staff, according to the people familiar with the testimony.

“I am not part of whatever drug deal Sondland and Mulvaney are cooking up,” Mr. Bolton, a Yale-trained lawyer, told Ms. Hill to tell White House lawyers, according to two people at the deposition.

Trump has them so bound up that they are going to hold up JOHN BOLTON as their savior. This is the most entertaining Presidency in decades. The sheer idiocy might end the Democratic Party as a national power by the time the violence is over in a few years.
