If you haven't seen his game vs Mizzou you should check it out. Clowney gets double teamed almost the whole game.


The only thing I worry about with Clowney is fatigue.

I'm sure the reporting here is completely accurate, and that nobody is floating misinformation from the Texans front office.

 

It's possible that by saying they're looking at Manziel or Bortles, they're really thinking Bridgewater or Clowney, and this is just another head fake.  Teams aren't going to tip their hands.

 

They know there are teams looking at Manziel and Bortles.  They might think that by floating this out there, one of those teams, namely Cleveland, might be willing to move up and get their guy if they feel he won't be there when they pick. 

You do realize as the number 1 pick they have absolutely no reason to do this? They don't need to put out false information to discuss trades when there is no one to question their positioning in the draft. Whoever gives them the best deal will get the number 1 slot regardless, if they do trade down.

Not far fetched.  If your franchise guy is still available at #2 and you really believe in him that he is the future, you are saying you wouldn't trade up one spot to ensure you get him?  Very possible if you ask me...especially considering one of your good friends in the GM who holds the #2 pick.

My issue as well. He does seem to take plays off once halftime comes especially when he see the team is doing everything away from him. It unfortunately led to him being caught off guard at times when a play actually did go his way. Teams have learned to make him chase and then attack when he slacks.

 

Its sick that teams really have to operate on the other side of the field from him to ensure he cant make plays but at the same time i could NFL OCs eating him alive with that and then when they see him taking a play off they attack. He will need another beast on the other side to keep offenses from shading away from him constantly.

I hope the Texans grab Bortles, the Browns trade up for Manziel, and the Vikings trade up with us swaping 1sts and 2nds this year + giving us next years first.

There is no reason to trade up one spot for anybody. The Rams don't need a quarterback for a defensive end. The only risk is the Browns or Raiders leapfrogging us for a quarterback.

You stated that there is no reason, then you provide a reason with two different circumstances.

 

What if St. Louis is entertaining offers from both Cleveland and Oakland and Jacksonville finds out about it? What if the player that those teams are targeting is a player that Jacksonville wants? Now St. Louis can simply drop back one spot, take the player that they want anyhow since they don't want the player that Jacksonville does, and garner an extra pick or so in the deal. That seems like a likely scenario, doesn't it?
