Russell Wilson becomes second Black QB to win Super Bowl

Quote:99% of TV programming is aimed at white audiences. I think Solid Snake is just mad people are downplaying the significance of Russell Wilson being a black quarterback who won the Super Bowl. He needs to grow up.
Quote:Russell Wilson isn't 100% African-American. I never thought he was. In fact I did not even notice how dark he is when Ohio State played at Wisconsin. Why do people make such a big deal about this while saying absolutely nothing about the player who was actually the first of his kind to play in a Super Bowl?
of course racism works both ways. bet , black miss America, anything you need to divide from the norm by color and race. are racist in concept. they are tolerated and not called what they are to placate a pitiful minority that apparently needs some self esteem. being America I don't particular care if someone wants to do it. but they wont have my respect, instead my pity. I can't wait until their antiquated idea's perish from this earth.

You know, I guarantee you we would not argue about a minority's individual accomplishment if we were talking about the Seahawk who was actually the first to do something on Sunday.
That is because everyone who watched Derrick Coleman's Duracell commercial knows no other player in NFL history overcame the obstacle he did to win the Super Bowl. I am offended that nobody is talking about him because so many Americans still put a lot of emphasis on the successes or failures of black people.

Derrick Coleman is black. Or are you like Stephen colbert "I don't see race, people tell me I'm white and I believe them because I buy my drugs at a pharmacy" Colbert said that... Not xJAGGYx! Don't get ur undies in a bunch.
Quote:Russell Wilson isn't 100% African-American. You are so clueless. The vast majority of African Americans are a mixture of African,European, and Native American. We come in multiple shades and colors: from light yellow, red browns, and dark chocolate. Yes his mother is white so was Obamas. Both proudly identify themselves as African American/Black males. Keeping them is just racist!
Quote:I think Solid Snake is just mad people are downplaying the significance of Russell Wilson being a black quarterback who won the Super Bowl. He needs to grow up. I see why a lot of posters don't like you. You're insanely ignorant. I could care less that people are downplaying it. My argument with you started because you said it was not significant. I explained that it was too him, and that's all that mattered. But you kept going on and on with your circlular logic, like it's blasphemy that he feels that way.

What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is agoin' on here???

Quote:I think Solid Snake is just mad people are downplaying the significance of Russell Wilson being a black quarterback who won the Super Bowl. He needs to grow up. A little off topic. A couple of weeks ago, ESPN televised a college BB game featuring two women one doing color and the other play by play. Im going to downplay it because its women, and it dosent matter anymore.
Whether someone has a liberal, or conservative viewpoint, a authoritative figure should not lock a thread for the sole purpose to get the last word in all the while prohibiting someone else from being able to respond.

Quote:So significant women achievements doesn't matter to you? To a very small point yes. A woman becomes president...I might make a thread about it, but probably not. I don't look at things like "the first woman to xyz, or the first black/white/hispanic to abc". I look for who a person is...not what they are.

I'd be more impressed if Wilson was the reason for the win than being the QB on the winning team. Not to take away from the accomplishment, but one seems more like a consolation prize.
