(03-02-2020, 06:52 PM)Caldrac Wrote: For me I would hope it would unfold like this for us, this is assuming Ngakoue is traded to Miami for the 26th and 70th overall selections: I like this one since it addresses several needs with potentially very good players. Brown, Jefferson, Queen and Kmet (sharing time with Oliver) would start immediately. Jaylon Johnson has the potential to eventually become a starter. Jackson is the wild-card in this class. If he gets stronger, he has the skill-set to be an excellent left tackle. I'd rather Ngakoue remain a Jaguar, but if they could receive picks 26 and 70 they'd have to make this trade. It helps greatly that there aren't many good pass rushers in this class after Young, so the Dolphins might be willing to part with their last first rounder. I doubt they'd also give up a high 3rd, however the Jags should still take this deal. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

You dont think Ferentz would of played him at LT if that was his best position and best player? I think it would be much easier for Wirfs to slide inside and over one spot than to switch sides at tackle. Crazy you feel that Nelson and Yanda are a waste. Would love to have a dominant guard I'm with you here. If Wirfs can be THAT kind of mauling OG, I have no issue taking him at 9. People on this board are hell bent on moving on from Cam Robinson... I'm not sure that is happening. I really think the only OL spot that will be addressed via draft is going to be RG. Wirfs would be a killer there (from what I've read) or we can go round 2-3 and get a 2nd tier guy. NT, CB (after Bouye trade), and LB are bigger needs though and I see those being the targets with our first two picks. My latest mock from walkthemock.com for JAX via Default ranking 1:9 - DL Javon Kinlaw, South Carolina 1:20 - CB Trevon Diggs, Alabama 2:10 - LB Patrick Queen, LSU 3:9 - TE Adam Trautman, Dayton 4:10 - G Ben Bredeson, Michigan 5:19 - FS K'Von Wallace, Clemson 6:10 - EDGE Alex Highsmith, Charlotte 6:27 - RB Tavien Feaster, Clemson 7:9 - OT Saahdiq Charles, LSU
Well this is a new one - these guys are saying we draft CJ Henderson with the 9th pick...

I had a go at the Draft Network's mock draft simulator and was pretty pleased with this... Probably should have got more at DT. but fills most of the holes I think.

Not sure I would take a WR in the first round, but I do really like Jefferson. I do believe in drafting the best available player, but I might violate that and insist on a DT, either Brown like you have, or Kinlaw at #9, no matter who else dropped to that spot. If we don't shore up our interior defensive line with a high quality player, we can write off the 2020 season. I guess what I am saying is that if it were up to me, then I would say Brown or Kinlaw at #9 no matter what, if either of them is still available.

Brown and Espinosa would be the ideal 1st round picks. While everyone loves Brown as the best guy to improve their run defense, Espenesa and Brooks would also help in this area. Espinesa could turn out to be a great replacement for Yannick; he may not be the natural pass-rusher that Ngakwoe has brought to the table, but he is much better against the run. His skill-set has brought comparisons to Cam Jordan and he is big enough to move inside on passing downs. He is definitely my first choice if he makes it to pick 20. As far as the other picks, Pittman and Perine would be very good value picks and both could earn sigificant playing time next season. The selection of Brooks enables Jack to move outside where he belongs. Diggs would likely become a starter from day 1 and he has the size to cover bigger receivers (which Herndon does not). Okwuegbunam's stock has dropped some since last season although he fared pretty well at the recent combine. I'd still try to trade for Hurst (one of their 2 4th round picks should get this done) since rookie tight ends rarely do great. To put this draft totally over the top, I would love to see the Jags get a late 1st rounder for Yannick (Seattle or Miami most likely) and get another playmaker at receiver. Justin Jefferson would be a great addition since Ruggs, Lamb and Jeudy will likely be gone. He and Pittman would help Minshew greatly. I would sign up for your draft tomorrow and it would actually bring some hope to an otherwise depressing off-season. This need would have to be addressed through free agency. There are too many needs on this team and no draft can address them all.
