Knowing this team is going absolutely no where this season? They have a VERY slim chance of winning games this upcoming season. The best thing to do is get picks for players that don’t fit into your long term plans. Campbell has been phenomenal but he’s older and won’t be a Jaguar next season regardless. Mentoring is overrated anyway. A lot of good that Poz mentoring did once he left. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

If Minshew improves we have a pretty good chance at winning games. I'm not gonna say we have a slim chance of winning because I dont even know what our roster will look like. Plenty of players in the history of the game talked about different veteran players mentoring them and saying they wouldn't be where they are if it wasnt for that person, Campbell is that guy. I dont think Allen would of had the season he had if it wasnt for CC, and Allen has even talked about what CC has helped him. A very good center from day one who tailed off late, but there was never any doubt that he loved the team and the city. Thats kinda my point, we used to have those guys and often they were a key part of the roster. We thought we had the O fixed with Bortles, Robinson and Hurns....nope We thought we had the D fixed with Yan, Telvin and Ramsey....nope I get guys dont work out and other factors happen but its not a last few years issue, its been that way for about 10 years.

Just because Poz' mentorship didn't click doesn't mean it should be stopped around the world.
The key to our 2020 success depends upon our FA acquisition(s), drafting and UDFAs. If we hit on slot of players we'll have an competitive season to say the least. Defensive acquisitions will be key.

Honestly, I don't care what the team's record is for 2020. They need to draft, develop and show that there is a plan in motion that will end the misery. They can flush out the front office and find new coaches but if they haven't picked up players that follow a coherent plan it is just more of the same. I've been looking for the mythical arrow pointing up for this team. As fun as 2017 was, the up and down offensive play didn't make me think we were headed for great things.
To go back over all the clichés and 20-20 hindsight turning point mantras.. There has been no corners turned. Contrast in the history of the franchise 1996 - Was fun and lucky breaks 1997 - The corner was turned and the team was building momentum 1999 - Last hurrah for the prize - Probably was a mistake overall but was enjoyable while it was happening 2004 - The corner was turned and it felt like even missing the playoffs the 9-7 record was legit 2005 - Return to the playoffs with a dominant 1-2 punch 2007 - Last hurrah for the prize - Big mistake to trade away the draft to rush the passer I hope we see something anything this year that indicates something positive for the future.

Comp picks are not awarded that way. Comp picks are awarded based on the net losses vs net gains in free agents. So if we lose Campbell but sign a comparable player, no comp pick for us. Don't worry, they're not doing anything in Free Agency the next couple of years outside of a stop gap signing.

Another year where there’s no way possible that we can win more than 6 games. I’ve just quit caring and learned to expect mediocrity at this point.

Had an interview with a guy today, season ticket holder since Day 1, not renewing. They're really Major Leaguing us.

The ultimate twist will be that somehow Dumpster Dave turns into Diamond Dave over the next two years with these draft picks but you won't see it all 'click" until the team is well invested across the pond and probably 50/50 with their time here and time in London.
2022 is the ideal target date for me. I think they'll have this year and next year but by 2022 I expect Khan to be leaning more and more towards London. The NFL has a boner for wanting to dip it's hands in everything. Especially along the international bracket. ![]() "What do I know of cultured ways, the gilt, the craft and the lie? If the new CBA goes through, the Jaguars will be locked into Jacksonville through the 2025 season. After that, the NFL and the NFLPA are free to discuss additional overseas games. ...but yeah, you'd be a fool if you don't believe that one of the closed-door CBA topics was, "What happens when the Jaguars move to London for the 2026 season?". |
