I'm more of a fan of Ruggs over Jeudy but honestly splitting hairs. Elite speed vs elite route running. And personally I'd take either over Lamb who goes 4 spots earlier.

The closer the draft gets the more keen I am to the idea of us going offense heavy and just trying to outscore every opponent.
And no news on Dareus front, perhaps he returns on a much cheaper deal? Allowing us to not need to go NT early opting instead of a guy like Fotu or Bentio Jones later in the draft?

Yeah the more and more I think, I like Ruggs fitting nicely with Chark. I'm wondering if we even consider Ruggs at 9? But, I DO think we will trade up in round 1 for someone. It depends who we pick at 9, but I can see a Ruggs-Kinlaw combo

At first glance I was like "hey this isn't that bad... Becton, Gladney..."
then the wheels fell off....

Where'd those picks come from...Marlon Davidson?
Jeremy Chinn?? (LB/S Hybrid??)
the Duvernay pick screams "we don't know this roster at all"
as does a QB in round 6

I swear for god if we waste a pick on a late round QB............

Its not that bad, even if I'd choose different players. Davidson and Chinn are both good.

Becton and Lewis would be great for the line. Gladney will be a shutdown corner. Davidson can play big end and 3 tech. It's also likely both conley and Dede are gone in a year and even if not they can be upgraded

Chinn might be good, but where on our D do we need a LB/S hybrid?
Why do you assume DeDe is gone after this year? Conley, sure, and I'm all about adding a WR in this deep draft, I just think there are better ones to add. I'm actually OK with Gandy-Golden as a jar on the shelf WR.

As I said, I was good with the first two picks... the rest was underwhelming, at best.

He can just play safety ,  can move him around, use vs TEs, mix in 3 safety looks.

Because Dedes contract will be up and he isn't good. Wouldn't be difficult to upgrade.

So in this scenario you come out with:
Starting LT
Starting RG
Starting corner
Starting Calais replacement

Then two WR fliers + versatile safety. I would pick different players probably but the thought process was sound for me

I disagree that DeDe "isn't good" he had a bit of a down year last year but I still think he's a viable starter going forward. Will need a good 2020 campaign for sure.
So you're putting Chinn in at FS over Wilson, or moving Harrison to FS and playing Chinn as SS? Or using that pick on a backup? And then why Tanner Muse late? (I think we can get starters from first 3 rounds this draft.)
Damien Lewis gets penciled in as starter for the RG position? If he's that good of a guard, why would he last til round 4 I wonder
If you select a LT at 9, Cam Robinson is probably moving to guard.

And if you would pick different players why are you defending this draft so vehemently? Just to argue with someone? lol

I stand by my "not a fan" take.
Starting OL guy and CB are great... afterwards I'm not sure how we pick those guys when many of the TDN mocks I have done have much better players/fits/value in most of those rounds 3-5 picks.
And drafting a QB late is a wasted pick imo. Which you seem to gloss over.

He also played through two separate injuries in 2019.

Yeah, missed a whole game plus played through shoulder and neck injuries and still had 66 catches and 660 yards...

My latest effort... Interestingly, Andrew Thomas was there at 21, would be a great if the Eagles traded us that pick for Yann.

My latest mock from walkthemock.com for JAX via Default ranking

1:9 - OT Tristan Wirfs, Iowa
1:20 - DL Derrick Brown, Auburn
2:10 - CB Jaylon Johnson, Utah
3:9 - TE Brycen Hopkins, Purdue
4:10 - WR Chase Claypool, Notre Dame
4:31 - FS David Dowell, Michigan State
4:34 - CB Mike Hampton, South Florida
5:19 - EDGE Darrell Taylor, Tennessee
5:24 - C Darryl Williams, Mississippi State
6:10 - WR Isaiah Hodgins, Oregon St.
6:27 - DL LaBryan Ray, Alabama
7:9 - RB J.J. Taylor, Arizona

What a slide by Brown here... can't see it happening but steal of the draft if so, imo.
Wirfs locked in as a mauler of a RG, Brown solidifies the inside of the DL. Johnson is our CB 1
Hopkins adds another TE to our group that is a receiving threat.
Claypool adds talent to our WR group.
Everything else is depth, STs, and jars on the shelf for the future.

I don't see us making all these selections. We'll be moving around in this draft and using some later round picks to move up in mid rounds would likely benefit us the most.

Hes not "good". He's a solid #3/#4 option who, based on everything we have seen, can be easily upgraded.

We play combo safeties now so doesn't matter as much where they play but yeah I'd put Chinn and Ronnie together and mix in a lot of 3 safety looks where it's Wilson and Ronnie with Chinn playing as a big nickel eventually. Or vice versa.

I'd say Lewis goes anywhere from round 3 to round 4, and is starting caliber I believe. Him going round 4 wouldn't change that for me.  And I don't really care where Cam goes with Becton at LT, it's more likely than not he's not a starting caliber interior.

Lol I'm defending it because it makes a lot of sense. Fixed the Oline with two guys I like, gets an above average starting corner , some WRs I rate too. Good use of positional value and depth of class.

And way late rounds I don't really care who we take but sure I probably would take one

The problem is that we have so many holes to fix, that any choice would "make sense" and thereby fix that positional issue.

Other than the Becton pick, that mock is just atrocious.

I think he botched things from the beginning.

I don't trust Becton at LT.  Granted I don't trust Taylor at RT yet, either, but I would hope if we spent a top 10 pick on a T it would be a LT.

I have little problem with the Duvernay and Lewis picks.  Duvernay arguably addresses a lesser need and takes advantage of the receiver depth in this class.  Lewis has been a favorite of mine since January.

A LB/S hybrid?  Didn't we just draft that last year?
