The beaches here are closed, so the first street off the beach has been a madhouse for a week. Bicycles, skateboarders, rollerbladers, and pedestrians all over the place all day long, and at least one yard on every block has people milling around eating pizza and listening to loud music. Our stupid government thinks that closing the beaches means people won't be outside at the beach. Morons have no understanding of human nature. Sounds like living in the UK is like living in an HOA. Fauci is certainly a member of the medical establishment, so he is unwilling to try anything new or learn anything new.
He has been against HCQ from the start, probably because it is cheap, widely available, and old technology. His Big Pharma pals won't get to ride in and save the day with some newly patented drug which costs $150 a dose. Well there's a surprise the Scientist doesn't know what he's talking apparently...
But Trump of course is enlightened. Why doesn't he sack him?

Hopefully Fauci is replaced soon. This guy would shut down the country for a year if he had it his way. What does he care? His employment is safe. Hopefully it happens this week.

Hopefully it happens this week. I watched the conference today. They think we are entering the peak. If we see peak and a decline then we should see parts of the economy start to be reopened. I think that Fauci is purely about mitigation. I think writing and slow playing HCQ will be questioned for years to come. The question is, is that a reasonable belief in mitigation or does that creep into worldview bias and a desire to play deity with the economy. The next few weeks will be definitive. The universal defacto ban on elective procedures is starving hospitals of revenue and costing staffs hours.
I thought this was a pretty good read. Gives ya an idea as to why the cocktail of an antiviral and antibiotics (hydroxychloroquin & zithromax) are usually a successful treatment for passenger viruses like swine and corona.

By blaming Fauci, aren't you implying that Trump is too stupid to make a correct decision? Is Trump such a weak-minded person that he is allowing Fauci to make all the decisions? Trump is properly and Constitutionally leaving the shelter-in-place decision up to state and municipal leaders.

Trump needs a doctor (young) who can balance the permanent impact their decisions are having on the economy. Not to mention his blatant reluctance to promote a CHEAP treatment that doctors are prescribing and is said to be helping. Combine that with his newfound fame and doing podcasts with Steph Curry, and apparently being in the pocket of the Bill Gates foundation, his effectiveness has run its course and its time to find a new guy. Again, just my opinion. (04-06-2020, 08:26 AM)StroudCrowd1 Wrote:Well look at you! Doctors give medical advice. Economists give economic advice. It's Trump's job to balance the two. If he can't do that, he shouldn't be President. Did u watch the press briefing?
Yea I’m not looking for the doctors to make economic policy I think Fauci has done an incredible job of being honest and upfront on what we have to do from a medical standpoint to stop this virus. I’m concerned that so many on the right are looking to down play the threat of a global pandemic to build an argument of over reaction. It’s a bad virus with no cure and is highly contagious even with heavy mitigation never done before you have more infected and dead than the entire year of swine flu my God imagine if we didn’t take the mitigation moves how bad it would be?
Economies can be rebuilt lives can’t be resurrected it’s that simple.
I see we've entered Fauci being part of the deep state phase of the pandemic. I'll check back in later
I'll play you in ping pong.

We're still in "recovery" - as it relates to the Duval Co Health Dept. Required an initial 7 days of isolation (from the date of confirmation), followed by 14 consecutive days of quarantine with no symptoms. Not really too much of a difference in what we were doing previously. It is weird experiencing a random cough or sneeze and waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop. But otherwise, we've been symptom free since the morning of the 16th
I'll play you in ping pong.
