Our stupid government thinks that closing the beaches means people won't be outside at the beach. Morons have no understanding of human nature.

Well its getting a little crazy over here. You have people asking the government to make laws to force them to stay inside. You can now be fined for taking unnecessary journies but police are using discretion but you have people phoning the police on people having a bbq and they think theres too many people! People wanting to arrest sunbathers!

Just don't go out! Dont need a [BLEEP] law!

Fauci is certainly a member of the medical establishment, so he is unwilling to try anything new or learn anything new.
He has been against HCQ from the start, probably because it is cheap, widely available, and old technology. His Big Pharma pals won't get to ride in and save the day with some newly patented drug which costs $150 a dose.

Well there's a surprise the Scientist doesn't know what he's talking apparently...

But Trump of course is enlightened. Why doesn't he sack him?

Hopefully Fauci is replaced soon. This guy would shut down the country for a year if he had it his way. What does he care? His employment is safe. Hopefully it happens this week.

I watched the conference today.  They think we are entering the peak.  If we see  peak and a decline then we should see parts of the economy start to be reopened.

I think that Fauci is purely about mitigation.  I think writing and slow playing HCQ will be questioned for years to come.  The question is, is that a reasonable belief in mitigation or does that creep into worldview bias and a desire to play deity with the economy.

The next few weeks will be definitive.

The great untold story.  The universal defacto ban on elective procedures is starving hospitals of revenue and costing staffs hours.

I thought this was a pretty good read. Gives ya an idea as to why the cocktail of an antiviral and antibiotics (hydroxychloroquin & zithromax) are usually a successful treatment for passenger viruses like swine and corona.

Fauci is not shutting down the country.  Trump is.  Why are you not blaming Trump?  By blaming Fauci, aren't you implying that Trump is too stupid to make a correct decision?  Is Trump such a weak-minded person that he is allowing Fauci to make all the decisions?

Whatever happened to "The buck stops here?"

Trump is properly and Constitutionally leaving the shelter-in-place decision up to state and municipal leaders.

I feel Fauci's effectiveness has run its course. Trump needs a doctor (young) who can balance the permanent impact their decisions are having on the economy. Not to mention his blatant reluctance to promote a CHEAP treatment that doctors are prescribing and is said to be helping. Combine that with his newfound fame and doing podcasts with Steph Curry, and apparently being in the pocket of the Bill Gates foundation, his effectiveness has run its course and its time to find a new guy.

Again, just my opinion.

Doctors give medical advice.  Economists give economic advice.  It's Trump's job to balance the two.  If he can't do that, he shouldn't be President.

Yea I’m not looking for the doctors to make economic policy I think Fauci has done an incredible job of being honest and upfront on what we have to do from a medical standpoint to stop this virus. I’m concerned that so many on the right are looking to down play the threat of a global pandemic to build an argument of over reaction. It’s a bad virus with no cure and is highly contagious even with heavy mitigation never done before you have more infected and dead than the entire year of swine flu my God imagine if we didn’t take the mitigation moves how bad it would be?

Economies can be rebuilt lives can’t be resurrected it’s that simple.

I see we've entered Fauci being part of the deep state phase of the pandemic. I'll check back in later
I'll play you in ping pong.

How are you and the wife now? When will you be declared officially ‘recovered’?

HB, thanks for asking. We're still in "recovery" - as it relates to the Duval Co Health Dept. Required an initial 7 days of isolation (from the date of confirmation), followed by 14 consecutive days of quarantine with no symptoms. Not really too much of a difference in what we were doing previously.

It is weird experiencing a random cough or sneeze and waiting for the proverbial shoe to drop. But otherwise, we've been symptom free since the morning of the 16th
I'll play you in ping pong.
