Did you take these photos?

I have a bird feeder near my deck, I've become pretty good at identifying them.

I know what they are.  Drove past the one on 13/racetrack..  Thought their way was convenient for them during these times.

Perhaps that one is a little more obvious I was joking.

Just did the curbside run- produce store for fruits, veg, etc., liquor store for beer and a bottle of Four Roses Single Barrel bourbon.

I've never gone to that produce store before (I'm in MA, not FL) and I've found everything to be better than the big box grocery store I always go to. When this is over, I'm staying with the little guy.

Okay, I typed all this and it's probably more than you wanted to know, but here goes:

I rarely play against a real person.  I play against the computers.  If you hover over "Play" then click "Live Chess" you can either play against various computer programs, with names like "Jade-bot" or "Komodo-9," or issue a challenge, and someone from somewhere in the world with match up and game on.  You can choose how much time you want to put on the clock, what kind of game, etc.  I like 15/10 games, where you get 15 minutes total but every time you make a move, it puts 10 seconds back on the clock.

If you hover over "play" and then click "computer" that is something different, where you can play a computer and get unlimited mulligans.

I don't like playing against humans because it feels kind of weird.  You can actually feel the person on the other end.  And a lot of them will make you play the game out even when they should resign.   Even though it's all online and anonymous, I feel the competitive tension on the other end.

My level is around 1100, which is totally mediocre.  I think master level would be around 2000, and grandmaster would be around 2500.  There are masters and grandmasters that play on that website.  I wouldn't play one, though.  It wouldn't be competitive.  So I play the bots that are rated from 1,000 to 1,200.

It's free.  You can pay extra for additional resources.  But I'm too lazy to do something like study the game.  That's probably why I'm stuck at mediocre.   But I'm completely addicted.

If you figure out how to have a board tournament, I'll play.

I've been playing on your site. Strangely, I'm like 1600 vs the computer and about 650 vs real people  Cry

Maybe I should learn more than the one opening I know lol.

Surprisingly, playing a person is really different from playing a computer.  People do unpredictable and strange things.  Some of them study weird openings in order to get an advantage.  If you play the computers, you can kind of get the hang of them after a while.  I've advanced myself over the 1200 level (My current rating is 1207), and I routinely beat the bots that are rated in the 1300s now.  So I'm slowly getting better.  But I'm still not studying at all.  Just playing.

I'm also finding that caffeine or an energy drink raises my game by about 100 points.

So, do you have a real rating, or are you just estimating?

I pretty reliably beat the computer on level 10 (1550 rating). Can you get a real rating playing against the computer?

My rating playing people in blitz games is 699. And yeah, people catch me in Scholars Mate and the like fairly often. Kinda learning I can see my own moves well but I'm pretty terrible at anticipating what the other player is developing. I also know very little about playing Black.

I don't know if it's a "real" rating or not, but you can get a rating.   It's free.  Register yourself, then play "live" chess and set the game to "rated."  Then play one of the bots.   I think they start you out with a default rating of 1,000.  But you have to play live chess: on a clock, no take-backs.

When you choose "play," don't choose "computer."  Choose "live chess."   Then you can play either a rated bot or an actual person.  If you want to play a rated bot,  choose play, then choose live chess, then choose vs computer, then choose one of the rated bots.

If you're playing "level 10" then you chose "computer" instead of "live chess."  Those levels are not on a time clock.  Although, if you are beating level 10, you are a really really good player, clock or no clock.

When I started playing blitz games, I was terrible.  I'm just not used to moving that fast and I can make some incredible blunders, but I've gotten better at it and now I can play a blitz game at about an 1100 level, because the bots blunder just as much as I do.

I prefer the 15/10 games.

I'm old enough to remember drive-through liquor stores here in Jacksonville, where you could order a cocktail at the drive-through, and they'd hand you a mixed drink that you could consume while you were driving.  No top on it or anything.

Thanks. They don't make it easy to find that. You can only do it from the browser, not the app.

I'm 1241 so far.
