Come on man- you're going to link a blue-sky press release and call it a study?!

Don't be such a tool. UV blood treatment is not a new thing. If antibody transfusions are a possibility, so is treating blood intravenously with UV. This is also Cedar Sinai, not some Urgent Care clinic. Come on.

You're so close, SC.

He already didn't take questions. You and your crew can go back to mistrusting doctors and specialists directly now.

Reelection is already in the bag anyway. Not sure if you heard about his opponents rape allegations that the MSM are trying their best to not talk about.

And later called it sarcasm. Keep defending though!
Could he have chosen his words better, sure? But you weirdos are going to pull something reaching as hard as you are.

I trust doctors and specialists. As JIB so succinctly put, Trump is neither.

And yet all this hoopla about Trump making comments and asking questions of his clinicians about something that is within the realm of scientific possibility. Sad.

How long does COVID-19 last on surfaces?

I keep finding results of the same study, and I don't think anyone has measured the virus on silver (probably because there would be nothing to measure). But I did note that the shortest time measured was on copper.

- Stainless steel: Up to 72 hours

- Copper: Up to four hours

Why is copper so much more effective than stainless steel? Because copper is REACTIVE. It reacts to and CHANGES the things it contacts.

There seems to be a lot of hoopla in his defense after a justifiably stupid stream of thought.

Was it sarcasm or not?

Trump once again walks his supporters out onto a limb and saws it off. They scramble to defend what he said, and now he says he wasn't serious.

Facts = hoopla in Trump's defense

Most of his supporters are reasonable and understand context.

So there was no clinical basis to his questions then?

I dont think Trump used the correct word for what he did. Basis or no? Notes he's read or been informed of on potential therapies that he was asking about or just made up out of thin air?

He just asked the question.  He DID NOT advocate people consume or inject cleaners and DID NOT say that people needed to be in the sun or under ultraviolet light.  He simply asked the health professionals if that was possible.

JIB, are you seriously happy with that? That our president pontificates that "Oh, hey, maybe injecting household disinfectant or somehow getting UV rays inside the body will kill a virus? Dr. Birx, I'm no doctor, so maybe you could look into that? Seems interesting." Which then starts a chain-reaction of tweets from the Surgeon General on down to the social media teams of big brand disinfectants to caution against self-medicating with disinfectants? Then walking it all back saying it was just sarcasm, diminishing any defense of his statements? Jesus.

Man, I'll own up to it: I voted for Obama in his 2nd term - but if he pontificated crap like that paired with almost a daily occurrence of (take your pick) narcissism, abuse, incitement of violence, lies, etc. during his first term, you can absolutely bet I'd question A) his mental capacity/state of mind, and B) why I should even bother considering his re-election bid. Regardless, I'd be absolutely embarrassed to defend said actions - in fact, I wouldn't. Especially not when the CV19 death toll surpassed 50k and he previously tweeted shade at his predecessor saying that he'd never allow a pandemic to claim American lives.
I stand by this statement.

At this point in the pandemic, the daily appearance of the President at televised press briefings is unnecessary, regardless of which political party or individual holds the office.
When you get into the endzone, act like you've been there before.

Donald Trump: (29:46)
A question that probably some of you are thinking of if you’re totally into that world, which I find to be very interesting. So, supposedly we hit the body with a tremendous, whether it’s ultraviolet or just very powerful light, and I think you said that hasn’t been checked, but you’re going to test it. And then I said supposing you brought the light inside the body, which you can do either through the skin or in some other way. And I think you said you’re going to test that too. Sounds interesting, right? And then I see the disinfectant, where it knocks it out in one minute. And is there a way we can do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning because you see it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, so it’d be interesting to check that so that you’re going to have to use medical doctors with, but it sounds interesting to me. So, we’ll see, but the whole concept of the light, the way it kills it in one minute. That’s pretty powerful.

Donald Trump: (34:22) [crosstalk 00:34:22] It wouldn’t be through injections, [inaudible 00:34:25] almost a cleaning and sterilization of an area. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn’t work, but it certainly has a big affect if it’s on a stationary object

Nothing in there seems to be a recommendation to mainline Lysol, but he can see Russia from his porch or something.

What is just as dumb as the idea of using disinfectant to sterilize the inside of a body is the idea that we can find out by just checking on it.
