Can he run routes seems he is so so? He looks good with the ball in his hands though.

They didn't really require a huge route tree out of him at Colorado. But that was one of the few knocks on him. He'll be fine. I think McCardell will work wonders with him. And he'll be able to latch onto Chark, Conley and Westbrook at some point this summer to get a feel for the game. 

The best part is that all of these guys will be learning a new system together. So it should make for an interesting training camp. He'll be a hard worker in the short to mid passing game though with his size and YAC ability. If he's able to beat his coverage off the LOS and run a simple drag route, slant route or curl route that leads to 10+ yard gains that's fine by me. 

That was one of the things I liked about Justin Blackmon in the few games he played for us. He had damn good hands and lord help you if you didn't close the distance on him because if he had just a tiny amount of space to work with he would make you pay for it. I think Shenault has some of that ability in his game. 

He might come along slowly and be a bit of a late bloomer after week seven, week eight. But when he shows up it'll get interesting overall.

McCardell working with him was the first thing I thought of when hearing about his route sloppiness.  Not concerning to me.  It's what comes after the catch you can't teach, and what he seems to have.

Either somehow I missed this when it first posted or I completely forgot about it.

In any event, if his strength is drawing comparisons to Anquan Boldin and Andre Johnson, that's impressive.

I remember reading reports and hearing stories about how he'd lift with the OL at Colorado.  Those were impressive.  These player attribute comparisons are nice to read, too.  Hopefully that translates into a great career with us.
