What is the definition of a protest?

When there’a violence, its not a protest. It’s a riot. They can assign whatever noble motive they want to it, but it isn’t a protest.

I agree. When police act violently with protestors it should give them every right to riot.

These fools have no property, money, etc. They don't have jobs or if they do they are minimum wage, part-time jobs that allow them to be out all hours of the night. They have no money to repay for your property being damaged. Are you going to force them to get a real job and not a job that 15-17 year olds get during the summer so they can repay you in maybe 20 years?

Maybe you want to bring back indentured servants?

I want to leave this part of the law alone. What I said above is the way things are now.

At some point you just have to let go of what you thought should happen and live in what is happening.
 

Private property law is all that keep us civilized. We need to end those who flout them whatever the reasoning.

Once the peaceful protestors devolve into rioting then the next group of peaceful protestors doesn't really get the benefit of the doubt. And there's PLENTY of video showing the police showing far more restraint than I personally would, significantly more than the number of videos we have of rioters doing the Burn, Loot, Murder deal.

Yep peacefully protesting because the police shot a criminal who shot first at the cops. They didn't even kill him. Attacking cops, robbing businesses, etc is so peaceful. I guess the cops should just wall off the south side, close the bridges, and shut down the trains and buses. Let them "peacefully" protest there.
