Someone will pick him up, but don't think he is on a roster the whole season unless he signs for $1 million or less. Welp, LF goes down in history as another one of the worst first rounds busts in NFL history.
How Dave Caldwell has a job at this point is beyond me. This roster is as bad or worse than what Gene Smith left us with. We show less advertisements to registered users. Accounts are free; join today!

LF led the team in receptions last season for whatever reason even though we had a Pro Bowl WR in Chark. He was utilized terrible by that Deflippo guy. At this point it doesn’t even matter. We had a meeting at some point and the coaches were like “Hey, anybody that’s average or above find a way to get them off the team.” I’m honestly surprised Marrone hasn’t traded himself yet.

When your own team mates ask for you to be gone something is real wrong with you.

Coming on the heels of the Ngakoue trade this def had me scratching my head.
Only time will tell if the current Jag's roster will do anything ..... heck , besides Minshew...I'm not even sure about who our players are anymore. Was he really that bad in the locker room?
Because Jaguars is our mantra

How many chances does one person get to do things like this? Marrone and Caldwell need to go.

Mark Long reported that he heard players had gone to Marrone asking the Lenny's release. Crazy idea - maybe some players asked for his release and other players were surprised by it. Whatever, the complete lack of interest in trading for him (even for a conditional seventh rounder), picking him up off waivers or signing him now sort of points to it not being a crazy move. People ask whether he was really less desirable than whoever is the bottom running back on the Jags roster after final cuts - seems right now like he's worse than the bottom of every roster in this league... I really doubt the whole "players asked for his release" thing. There is no proof.
All we have is speculation by a journalist reporter citing un-named sources or that "he heard" something. Also, I seriously doubt that an NFL team/locker room operates that way. There are 10 kinds of people in this world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Without being able to say that LF was doing a lot of things detrimental to the team, it just makes no sense. I definitely don't see a bunch of young guys like we have pulling something like that. Maybe a really hard working veteran or the QB are the only ones that would make any sense and we don't even have the former. That fact that he still hasn't been picked up speaks volumes of how he's seen across the league tho. I really hope he's been good with his money cuz it doesn't look like he'll be getting that big 2nd contract unless he seriously balls out this year for whoever scoops him.
Do we think Thompson will end up being used a ton more than was originally thought now? IDK why but that's my initial gut feeling.
I'm pretty pissed off about this move but if it so when works out for the better based on what Gruden wants to do then I guess I'll get over it pretty fast. |
