Welp, LF goes down in history as another one of the worst first rounds busts in NFL history.  

How Dave Caldwell has a job at this point is beyond me.  This roster is as bad or worse than what Gene Smith left us with.

I agree. Players would never live that down. Without being able to say that LF was doing a lot of things detrimental to the team, it just makes no sense. I definitely don't see a bunch of young guys like we have pulling something like that. Maybe a really hard working veteran or the QB are the only ones that would make any sense and we don't even have the former. That fact that he still hasn't been picked up speaks volumes of how he's seen across the league tho. I really hope he's been good with his money cuz it doesn't look like he'll be getting that big 2nd contract unless he seriously balls out this year for whoever scoops him.

There certainly aren't many players on the team who have the ability to ask for someone to be released. The only reason I can see this being true is for LF to have already been demoted. If he had lost his starting job and had a bad attitude about it, then some players definitely could have asked for him to be released.

Agreed 100%. Those guys have proven they have the talent to be great NFL players. Everybody else has a lot to prove.

You have clearly forgotten how bad it was with Gene. None of his picks ever made a pro bowl. None of them were traded for anything of value. Almost all where off the team within 2 years of him being gone. There is no comparison between gene smith and Caldwell. One is an all time worst GM and the other is average at worst.

Free em?  As in "Free them?"  Maybe he meant free the Bucs.  Or maybe he meant freedom.  As in, freedom for Fournette.

Or maybe it's some kind of code.  Do these players communicate in code?  What the heck could "free em" mean, anyway?  "em" is not a word.
